socalscout
I was looking up old shows I watched as a kid and it made me think of this topic. What kid's show did you watch that debuted when you were a kid? For me: School House Rock http://www.school-house-rock.com/ Land of the Lost -(pre Chaka) http://www.landofthelost.com/ Super Friends (before those stupid Wonder Twins) http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/watch/tv_shows/superfriends/ Shazaam Isis Fat Albert http://www.bugkid.com/fatalbert/ Sigmund & The Sea Monsters http://www.70slivekidvid.com/satsm.htm Wheely and the Chopper Bunch -http://www.geocities.com/rdeadw01/wheelie.html
Carrie
I don't know when it debuted, but I loved Thundercats, She-Ra, He-Man, Garfield, and the Care Bears. Talk about variety, eh?
Kilroy the Ninja
I had a Sigmund and the Sea Monsters lunch box when I was in kindergarden. I loved that show. And all the other ones you listed Socal...plus I lived in Hawaii at the time so I was really into the Godzilla flicks (which were on tv there ALL the time) and Speedracer and Gilligan's Island. Hawaiians have a sense of humor after all...
Sojourner
Carrie, I liked all those shows plus the Smurfs and the Snorks, My Little Pony, Jem! (Does anyone remember that song: "Jem! is truly outrageous, truly truly truly outrageous ...), and the Justice League (or something like that -- it had Superman and Wonder Woman and the Wonder Twins and Batman). Great stuff. Me and the kids in my neighborhood used to play Smurf Tag. One of us would be Gargamel and chase everyone else. I was always Smurfette. Ooo, and I forgot Strawberry Shortcake! I had a Strawberry Shortcake lunchbox. Edited January 22, 2004 by Sojourner

Tom
Hiya Richard Great to have a fellow Englishman who appreciates quality TV <g>. Funnily enough, I was having a Bagpuss conversation with a friend the other night. Did you ever have transformers, or did they come in after you'd grown too old for them? Was America ever enlightened enough to have transformers, or did you miss out?
Richard
No, I'm only(!) 29!!! My brother had transformers. I was more of an action man, man myself!

They still sell them too.
Sojourner
Yeah, they do still sell transformers. One of my friend's kids got some for Christmas. Brought back so many memories ....
Tom
29 dosen't quite make you middle aged but transformers were such a passing fad, I thought you could have easily missed out. A friend of mine atually dug out his Action Man to illustrate a Moral Theology presentation we were giving on the morality of preemptive strikes, which amused the lecturer no end.
