Christ said that only God is good...so in that case, no there will be no good people in Hell. If good means someone who hasn't murdered anyone..then yes there will be 'good' people in Hell.

Context is everything.

That is the point of the poll. What exactly is the definition....

will people that YOU consider good be in hell?
Now you defined it. Yes, there will be people whom I THOUGHT were good who will be in hell. There will be some who were good for a time. No there will not be good people in hell. I guess I would define good as being in a state of grace, i.e. a friend of God, i.e. regenerate. Those who persevere in such a state will be eternally good.

Matt 5

45: so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Matthew, chapter 12
Chapter

35: The good man out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil man out of his evil treasure brings forth evil.

You can be a good person, but one can have a mortal sin they don't want to confess because they are too stubborn, but we can not judge one person's mortal state in where they are going because we are not God.

There will be no good people in hell, for any person who is good will die in a state of Sanctifying Grace.

You can be a good person but miss Mass every Sunday because you don't feel like going. I believe there are more things to do than to be good in getting to Heaven.

I know, I was making a valid point that JUST being good will not get you to Heaven. I guess I worded it wrong.

As Bishop Sheen was said... When we go to heaven, many of the people we thought we'd see we will not, and the some of the ones we thought we would not, we will.

If prose's definition of "good" means a person in sanctifying grace, then StThomasMore is right. :)

We cannot know who (as in specific persons) will be in hell, but we can know, according to the teachings of Holy Mother Church, that persons with mortal sins for which they were not invincibly ignorant will not be capable of entering heaven.

Extra ecclesiam nulla salus

most people i know i would consider good people, not because they are right about everything but because they are decent human beings who are caring, and nice and who do things for others. they are good people. According to the Church they may be destined for hell becasue of their refusal to accept the Church, and to submit themselves to the Pope. BUt they are good decent people all the same.
