Hey What Do You Think Of Canada?

Of all the posts pinned in "pinboard" right now, this has the absolute oldest OP. If a post from early 2010 is like a freshly-made zombie that only has a few pieces falling off here and there, this post is like a walking skeleton with half of its ribs missing, and a gaping holes in the skull where people have tried COUNTLESS TIMES to put it down, to no avail.

That looks tasty. What is the brewery?

Edited to say, DOH! Okanagan Brewery.

It's also not at all expensive. I love porters more than any other beer, and one day I saw this in a little corner of the liquor store. The price was right, but I was expecting a pretty boring cheap tasting porter. Definitely not what I got.
It doesn't quite have the subtlety of London Porter, but it's got all the porter qualities, it's refreshing, and it's about half the price.

I love porters too, especially this time of year. More so than stouts. I live in NC and for the longest time beer could not be more than 6% ABV. Two years ago the law was repealed and it is now 16%, which make the beer selection here now...how do you say EXQUISITE. I'm gonna try to find that Okanagan.

Up to 16% you'll also theoretically be able to find the best Trappist beers. Have you tried Rochefort?

Yes. Love the 6 and 8. They 10 is a little heavy, but good. There's a place right down the street from my house that only serves high-end beers. 16 on tap and a great selection from the fridge.

[/quote]I've actually only tried the 10. Really liked it, although the high ABV obscured the flavour just a bit, at least to my uninitiated palate. Do you prefer the 6 or the 8? From the reviews I read I was a little more intrigued by the 8; it sounded very unique.

I like the 8 b/c the flavor is hard to pin-down. Bold, yet fruity. I have yet to have it on draft. The 10 is good, but I normally steer away from the higher gravity b/c I rather enjoy two beers on my way home from work than one. Two 10% pints(32oz) can put a little dent in you.

Actually, you know what? It's the 12 I've tried, not the 10.
