jjm
Canada eh? Isn't that a country of people named 'Doug?' I don't trust a country that clean and with so few minorities. Also, most Canadians don't like the US, so I take issue with Canada on that. Besides, Canada is to the US what my little brother is to me. Any of you have younger brothers? They try to follow you everywhere and do what you're doing. Example: Canada/little brother: "What you doing?" US/Big brother: "Going to war." Canada: "Cool! Can I come?" US: "No, you might get hurt." Canada: "No I won't! I won't get hurt, honest I won't, just let me come, pleeeeeeeeease?" US: "No, it's not cool to be seen with you." Canada: "But I promise I won't get in the way." US: "For the last time Canada, no, you can't come." Canada: "Well I'm gonna go ask mommy(France) and daddy(England)!" US: "*Sigh* All right, you can come, but you can't shoot any guns." well. for a start my name is not doug. and I have only ever met one Doug that I can remember. Second, come to Canada and take a look around then reconsider the minority statement. The little brother thing is a bit of a joke. I think your possibly right in saying that "America" (which last time I checked consisted of two continents) is a big brother insofar as generally, but with exceptions, you like to think that you are always right and expect your "little brothers" (whoever isn't helping your economy?) to do whatever you say. I don't want to end up bickering or trodding on any toes before I even know you so "hey" how's it going? Your post has gone and made me all uppity. I must say that most people I've met from your country are decent folk. I quite liked a few of them. farewell and goodnight Jim

Laudate_Dominum
Canada eh? Isn't that a country of people named 'Doug?' I don't trust a country that clean and with so few minorities. Also, most Canadians don't like the US, so I take issue with Canada on that. Besides, Canada is to the US what my little brother is to me. That was pretty lame NewReformation! There is nothing wrong with not having much diversity, but since you seem to know very little about Canada I will inform you that it in fact does. The biggest distinction is probably between the French Canadians and British Canadians. There is a lot of very beautiful culture in Canada. Some areas have large native populations with some beautiful cultural stuff. There are also many people of Irish, Polish and various other decents. I also notice a lot of blacks and asians when I go to Canada (particularly in the cities). The history of Canada is very cool too. I especially like the Christian history, the adventures of missionaries to the native people. The Eastern Churches have a good presence in many parts of Canada too, and the Canadian Martyrs are among my favorite Saints. As far as the very rude comment about wars, Canada was sending troops to Europe during World War II long before the U.S. finally decided to get involved. They celebrate Rememberance Day for a reason, countless Canadians have given there lives in war to defend freedom, liberty and all those other things people from the States are supposed to love so much. As far as Canadians not liking the U.S., I must admit I saw a Canadian TV show once that was very popular that did nothing but rip on the United States, so there might be something to that. :) Edited January 23, 2004 by Laudate_Dominum

IcePrincessKRS
Canadians are silly. And they drive slow on Route 81. But I never met a Canadian I didn't like. I have several friends from there, and I myself grew up 45 minutes from the Canadian border. :)
