homeschoolmom
Well, I don't know about jobs in the Cities proper. It's always changing. (Keep in mind, I went to college... a couple of years ago...) Special ed teachers and early childhood may be more in demand. http://www.ecfe.info/ <-- have you looked into this as an emplyment opportunity?
Old_Joe
How about St. John's?
Whatever floats your boat. Sojourner
Couple things: Private schools often have great financial aid departments that will work hard to help you be able to afford it. Don't write them off out of hand. I went to a private school for my undergrad degree and got enough in scholarships that it was cheaper for me than going to a state school. With regard to teaching positions ... just keep in mind that Baby Boomers are just now starting to retire. That will significantly change the face of the profession over the next several years (and other professions as well).
zabbazooey
Hehe yeah I go to a private school that is about $25k/year but with aid and scholarships it's whittled down to a much more manageable $9,000/yr. Only problem is, my mom's income is a lot higher than my dad's (who lives in Nebraska) and so I would not get much financial aid....
