Hey Minnesotans....i Need Your Advice!

I'm moving to Minnesota, and I'm an early childhood education/elementary education major. I've applied to Winona State and St. Cloud State....but (especially to those who have majored in education) what are some schools in Minnesota with a really good (or have a reputation for being good) education program?

I would prefer a program with a Bachelor's Degree (therefore, U of M twin cities is out) and public (it's way cheaper) although if the private school had an outstanding program, I might consider going there...

Any advice?

Why's the U out? Just curious... Don't they have a Bachelors in Education? :idontknow:

I was an eled major, but I went to college in Wisconsin.

What about Mankato? Have you looked there?

U of M has a bachelor's, but it doesn't lead to licensure....I want to see if the district would pay (or at least partially pay) for grad school before I get my Master's...and I want some teaching experience before I go to grad school.

I am looking at Mankato, too. Problem is, they all look the exact same to me :(

Hey! I'm from St. Cloud!

And I've heard that Bemidji State has a good program, although, I think they modeled their program after SCSU. :idontknow: That's just what I've heard, though, and that's starting to get kind of far north...

Like I said, kind of far north...
So you should come to St. Cloud.
It's a cool place.
Not that I'd be biased or anything...:ninja:

Don't know anything about eled myself but there's UofM Duluth. I think St. Thomas is pretty expensive. I went to North Dakota and North Dakota State, engineering.

Have you considered Wisconsin? Minnesota has reciprocity with Wisconsin (meaning you would pay Minnesota's in state tuition in Wisconsin). You would probably have to live in the state for awhile to become a resident (unless you have a parent living here).... but you could do your gen eds. and then transfer. If that's of interest to you.

Bemidji is another (cold) option. Pretty much from what I remember, Mankato, St. Cloud, Winona, Bemidji etc.-- the State schools-- all have descent Ed. programs. I don't know about Metro State much at all.
