Didymus
thats a dangerous doubt RProddy, we know Saddam had weapons we was not suppose to have. What could he have had by now if we never went in? Would Kuwait exist? How many more terrorists would have been harbored and armed? So in 1,5,10 years, whos to say these terrorists wouldnt have made it into the US. I say any government harboring/willing to harbor or arm terrorists in any part of the world is a threat to the US, because so many want to get in and harm us. RandomProddy
we know Saddam had weapons we was not suppose to have.
False, the UN sanctions worked and he had no wmd in 2003.
Would Kuwait exist?
Yes, the coaltition went in in 1991 and there is little doubt that another would have been formed to rescue Kuwait again. Besides, Saddam wasn't silly enough to make such a massive mistake again with a weaker army.
How many more terrorists would have been harbored and armed?
None..
I say any government harboring/willing to harbor or arm terrorists in any part of the world is a threat to the US, because so many want to get in and harm us.
It's a stretch to say Saddam directly surrorted the efforts and arming of terrorists. Besides, it's a skirmish compared to invading a sovereign nation. I was surprised when the US fell for it and disappointed the UK joined in.
Aloysius
actually, it is documented that he did still have chemical weapons that he had signed off as destroying in 2003. they found those. they were old, may not have been ready to be used, but he hadn't destroyed them like he said he did. it was a breach of the agreement, and there was no way of us to know that those specific weapons had fallen into disusability. not to mention it has never been proven that there were not more weapons which went across the border. though there clearly were weapons programs and the ability to make weapons, making it very likely and plausible that some did exist and were sent across the border. Winchester
Honestly. Pray get the bloody media out of the way. As a soldier, it seems that tactically there is fear of doing much with the media always trying to make the army look blood thirsty. Get the media out, get some psyop in and the war is done in less than 3-6 months.
Amen.
