Chiquitunga
I remember a thread a few months ago, asking about monasteries that have CDs of their singing available. I couldn't find this thread by searching, but I wanted to add a couple places to it. The Carthusian monks and nuns have a few CDs available either from the Parkminster website, or by calling the Catholc bookstore near the Vermont Charterhouse at 802 - 362 - 1114. In Vermont they have the one by the nuns in Spain, Cantate Deo, and a few of the monks. I just ordered Cantate Deo from there, and the women I spoke to on the phone was incredibly nice! The book store is very separate from the actual Charterhouse. Then I just noticed the Poor Clares in Co. Carlow, Ireland have a CD available on their site: http://www.poorclares.homestead.com/index.html I visited them when I was over there about 5 years ago. They are lovely and have perpetual adoration :j

DiscerningSoul
There is a chant CD offered by the Benedictine Nuns here in CT. I have an older tape of them, I loved listening to it while I mucked stalls, now I just don't know where I put the tape.

I too listen to music while I am mucking stalls, but since I don't have a CD player, I turn to a religious radio station, but how much nicer it would be to do it to Gregorian Chant! I sometimes just say prayers, but I love the energy I get from music. Are you a "horse person" as well as a discerning soul? I dread leaving my horses to go into the convent! brendan1104
MFVA made those cassette tapes ten years ago, maybe even longer and their community was alot different then. Too bad they don't do any more recordings. Yes to being a horse person, I currently muck 14 stalls mon thru fri and sometimes four more stalls when called upon, I also have my own horse.
