Here's a video clip with footage of the Truth about Rock Music. You may have to download it onto your computer, but please allow it. It's definitely worth watching. Please don't erase this clip. Moderators, at least watch it before deleting it. I know you'll see that it's not worth deleting.

that movie is pretty bad. especially relating the rush of playing loud music in front of a thousand people to being possesed by satan. i think its fair to say that this debate is now pretty one sided with you getting the short straw. virtually everything you have posted has been stupid prejudice and out of context, and thouroughly refuted by us "metalheads". come back once you have done your own complete research.

Unfortunately this just shows how blinded you Catholic kids are, satan will sit next to you in mass and you would still think its your granny!!!
You either see the truth or you don't. The darkness hates the light.
Loved by the world(sin and wordly things),hated by God.

AMEN AND OUT

Nobody wins when the conversation gets ugly.

Any peacemakers out there?

People don't come across very Christian (or convincing) when they call all Catholic kids "blinded."

People also do not come across very Christian (or convincing) when they call people "stupid."

Such statements don't make anybody's argument any more convincing.

DISCLAIMER: Haven't read the whole thread.

However, even when things aren't intended to be taken seriously, or are done just for a "show", Satan may still be behind it. Open our spirits to Satan is never good, and I believe that many of these lyrics open our spirits to evil even when the listener doesn't "intend" to believe what is being sold to him.

There is plenty of good metal music that has no satanic connection.

okay maybe i shouldnt call people stupid. but seriously look at all the evidence that has been brought up, including the modified iron maiden cd covers, like declaring a band satanic because of a song name which for one doesnt sound satanic at all(run to the hills) and in a more in depth look is actaully about cowboys and indians. judging by the cover is a bad way to go about doing things.
for instance on the other end of the spectrum "jesus saves" by slayer
at first glance it may seem pro christian but the cover isnt every thing. slayer fans will know what the song is about.

but when someone comes on here and spews out loads of evidence, that is all systematically proven wrong, and people respond with good listening materials, solid evidence to the contrary, but they still keep their closed minds shut, to me that is stupid.
many of the "metal heads" on here being attacked for being "followers of satan" have taken their evidence with a grain of salt(or three) but it has inspired them to look closer and for some to gain a bit of insight on certain stuff. i ask the threadstarters to do the same.

KnightofChrist

Many Heavy Metal Bands are satanic, use satanic words, symbols or both. Many famous metal bands do this...

If a band uses satanic words, or symbols nope we should not listen or support that band.

Yet, there are some bands which would not be satanic per say but they do and we know they do promote things which are absolutely contrary to Jesus Christ. If Christ would not listen to it we should not listen to it.

Christ would not enjoy Metallica in many cases their "message" is contrary to His.

But just because a band is "Heavy Metal" does not equal satanic. It is the words they use, and the symbols they mark themselves with.

There are many of Christian Heavy Metal Bands that preach Christ.

Ok, so I have not read the whole thread, but I've read enough to get the jist of what is being said here. I admit it, I listen to Metallica and I'm proud to say it. The Chilli Peppers? Love 'em...And a bunch of other 'heavier' bands, as you would call them.

I can't help but wonder something. I've been a member of Phatmass for oh, I wanna say 2 years. I'm extremely busy, thus my posting has become less and less. But everytime I do sign on someone is attacking rock music. Why don't you give rock a break, and start on rap or something. Or Justin Timerblake. I'm convinced Jesus wouldn't listen to him. I think JT would offend Jesus Christ's ears by his poor singing.

Anyway, back to the point I was trying to make. Give rock a break and instead of beating on it, look at another genre. You can find all this stuff in any genre, not just rock.
