First of all, I cant stand it when people look deeper into Linkin Park song lyrics. I cant really think of any band farther from an agenda then LP. Their lyrics are even cheezy sometimes cuz they're so generically associated with original lyric patterns dealing with human relationships.
Well, good thing no one is making you listen to them.

I meant that in a good way for them. I like their music. I just don't think their lyrics are meant to go any deeper than basic everyday life. Thats what I meant by saying some of it is cheezy. They're lyrics are so original that they are sometimes cheezy and thus shouldnt have to be scanned for deeper meanings. It doesn't really have to do with your first statement about them, I just thought of that when you mentioned them.

You listen to a satanic artist with all sorts of backmasking on the album, eventually you WILL get affected.
Any real back masking done by people are A JOKE! Thats because people are stupid enough to go looking and want to find something Its like this blah blah sounds like hail satan!

If you support(listen) to an artist that sold his sole to the devil like 99% of super famous people.
You indirectly support the devil.
Got proof of these 99% of people?

Hey come on... I am sure that number is purely factual and by no means any sort of exaggeration

Hopefully, we could all agree that in life all groups are mixed.
No one whole group is saintly.
No one whole group is satanic.
Not all Catholics are saints.
Not all students are saints.
Not all Presidents are saints.
Not all musicians are saints.
Not all rock musicians are saints.
:saint:

Evaluate each one for yourself --
look at the images
listen to the words
Decide for yourself -- Culture of Death or Culture of Life??
Support the Culture of Life!

Yesterday, Mark Shea's blog (http://markshea.blogspot.com/) posted a rock band that in my opinion is REALLY Culture of Life. Check it out-- Oremus -- www.oremusmusic.net.

God bless!

The problem is however, when you sin(even unknowingly through a lack of knowledge) your gift
of descernment are taken away from you.
We can act on sin knowing it's sin and afterwards, we know we've sinned

um... okay, does that negate what truthseeker said? when one acts on a sin, are they not doing it knowingly anyways? One can discern always, but discerning with the Spirit to do God's will is not as easy when we're ailing with sin.

If you mean:
Always ask yourself-What wull JESUS do????
That is exactly what we should do, and sometimes listen to the guidance of others in what we listen to.

If you mean:
If you think Jesus will fill his mind with rubbish, you are indeed a lost soul.
Or just a deceived Christian who needs to seek wisdom from God.
1 Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to his disciples, 2 Saying: The scribes and the Pharisees have sitten on the chair of Moses. 3 All things therefore whatsoever they shall say to you, observe and do: but according to their works do ye not; for they say, and do not. 4 For they bind heavy and insupportable burdens, and lay them on men's shoulders; but with a finger of their own they will not move them. 5 And all their works they do for to be seen of men. For they make their phylacteries broad, and enlarge their fringes. . Matthew 23:1-5
It is the sin of pride when you confuse your own tastes and preferences with God's will and you try to lay unnecessaary burdens on others.
You hurt and misguide others in the name of your own self-worship, self-importance and sanctimoniousness. You also sin against the virtue of charity towards others.

Mercifully, our Church leadership today is NOT like the Pharisiees, and does a good job of guiding us on modern moral issues. We, as Catholics, need to have the humility to accept and follow what our Church guides us to follow, and not to try to impose additional burdens on others.

If all rock music were sinful, our Church would make that clear to us, as it has with New Age Philosophy -- see the Vatican website for pages and pages on this dangerous topic.

In the case of rock music, the Church has not made any condemnations -- neither the Vatican website, the Catechism, nor the Pope (either Pope John Paul the Great or Pope Benedict) have condemned ALL rock music. They do acknowledge that SOME rock can sometimes be a vehicle for immorality (just as butter can be a vehicle for heart disease), but not all rock music does this and not all rock music must be avoided. Just as it is not sinful to use a little bit of butter, and I am sure that the Pope uses some.

The Church also makes very clear that rock music should not be used in the Mass, but there are many things in life that are not sinful and can be enjoyed elsewhere, yet do not belong in the Mass-- birthday balloons, Barney suits, bicycles, chocolate chip cookies, newspapers, etc, etc, etc. These things are good, yet they do not belong in the Mass.

Catholics should honestly ask themselves whether it is pride at work before they try to place demands on others that exceed the requirements made by our Church leadership. Of course, we must avoid Satanic rock and any type of rock that is a vehicle for the culture of death. But we are free to enjoy good, clean rock music. And if we love God enough to also make Him the subject of our music outside of the Mass, so much the better!

If you WANT to give up good, clean rock music as a form of fasting, good for you! But acknowledge that others are not required to do the same . Do not bind heavy and insupportable burdens on other men's shoulders! Those who do this are injuring the reputation of our Church and putting themselves above our Church leadership.
