Manson, an ordained "reverend" in the Church of Satan, mutilates himself on stage (1 Kings 18:28), rips-up the Holy Bible, and spews "blasphemies" against the Lord Jesus Christ. Manson’s T-Shirts declare, "KILL YOUR PARENTS" & "I ¤ SATAN". Manson claims his album Antichrist Superstar came via "supernatural-inspiration":

"I heard this album as finished, I heard it in dreams . . . It was like the revelations of John the Baptist or something." (huH, Oct. 1996, p.34)
Manson’s "hope" for Antichrist Superstar,:

Manson’s "blasphemy" is not just an act. Manson readily admitts there's more to the show than meets the eye:

The group Black Sabbath have actually given invitations during their concerts for young people to receive Satan. One of their albums, is truthfully titled, "We Sold Our Soul for Rock'n Roll". Their song N.I.B. (Nativity In Black) is one of the most openly satanic songs ever recorded. It is a love-song from Lucifer, in which Lucifer invites the listener to "please take my hand", the lyrics:

Studies taken by the Georgia Police Academy revealed — 90% of those involved in satanism are TEENAGERS!

The iron maiden song dosent direct young people to satan. Most people who know these songs are either know the artist arent serious about their songs or just dont have a religion. You are taking everything here way too literally. If you wanna talk about some bands why not go over all their songs instead of just one?

I didn't mean to upset you with my posts. I just wanted to inform the people on here about the dangers of some rock bands. I respect your opinion, but I'm sure there are others who will benefit from my posts. Many people don't realize the effects of listening to the bands I've listed in my previous posts. The "70's mothers" indeed had it right in warning about these dangers. If you've heard of subliminal messages, they actually do work. Most of the messages in the rock songs contain subliminal messages encouraging listeners to do drugs, have sex and kill. There have been numerous reports on teenagers who have committed suicide all because of the music they were listening to. You may be immune with these subliminal messages, but others aren't. Music is very powerful in affecting one's emotions. Anyway, I'll post some information regarding some of the things you've written. Again, I welcome any type of criticism because I know not everyone will agree with what I post. I rather have people tell me the truth than agree with whatever I say. Thank God for freedom of speech.

You're right about Metallica not writing the lyrics to "Jump In the Fire." It was written by Dave Mustaine. I found this in Wikipedia regarding their song.

His wife Rebecca, a Christian, had been praying for him, and on entering the Church Nicko found himself crying as he experienced a "calling". A lot of their older albums make people believe they are/were worshipping Satan. Why else would they promote him so much? It can't be just for show. Some Marilyn Manson fans would defend Manson by saying, "His antics are just for 'show'" when he's come out and admitted to being a member of the Church of Satan. Anyway, back to Maiden. Well you aren't right about the four songs you mentioned. You are assuming they are about Satan. Children of the damned is based on the 1963 movie. Number of the beast is somewhat inspired by the movie The Omen II and a nightmare Steve Harris, the bassist had. 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' describes the thoughts and emotions of a condemned man on his way to the gallows, not Satan. And guess what, Run to the hills isn't about Satan either. Too much of this is based off of the judgement of people who dont even listen to this music, but they'll hear one word or phrase and believe the entire band is satanic. I'm not saying some of it is evil, but c'mon, most of the satanic stuff comes from fans. The big problem is is that satan sells.

I'd bet some of you would think Metallica's 'No Remorse' is about the crucifixion, too.

right, so a band with tens of christian themed songs(see fixxxers post) is now satanic because of a few out of context lines from a song about a nightmare? if having a nightmare with the devil in it is a sign of satanic beliefs, then im sure plenty of us, myself and probably quite a few preists are included in that.
and didymus already covered that many of the songs you mentioned are not even close to satanic. its obvious that you havent read any more of the lyrics than the title of the song. or even even heard any songs by any of these bands

There are not many people in the world who actually practice Satan-worship. Not many bands either. There are a whole lot more that have some appearance of devil-this-devil-that.

Musicians (deluded or not) see their music as describing......SOMETHING.
It is normal for a musician to say what their song was about and then everybody is surprised at the actual meaning.
Songs are hardly every prescriptive, but DESCRIPTIVE.
And when they are descriptive, they are often cryptically descriptive.
There is a lot of danger in judging bands/songs/fans.

Most music fans would not tolerate the dress or behavior of a rock star in a normal person. They also would not tolerate somebody talking in a way similar to lyrics of songs. (Funny mental picture.)

But, when a person doesn't have a whole lot of identity, sense, faith, guidance, support, chemical balance, etc......thinking of song lyrics as significant - misunderstood or not- is very dangerous. Especially with drugs.
It was very disturbing that anybody could listen to rock for 6 hours a day. Of course, that is going to be bad for anybody. There are some flat-out evil lyrics too. Sexual songs are the worst kind in their own way. They are obviously intentional and played on the most popular radio stations. They can plant a bad thought into a sane, mature person easier than Rap or Heavy Metal can.

In sum, I think that YES rock and other music is very dangerous and that should be discouraged. If I had kids, I would forbid certain music to them.
But it is important to hold back on the accusations of bands and their audiences. Michael did not slander Satan (Book of Jude).

Also, I don't blame anybody for the impressions they get of bands like Metallica. I am pretty darn sure that Metallica is not anything like Satanic. But, when certain of their lyrics are quoted, the first impression is obviously very bad.
