Yeah.. I don't really like the company that much because both of my phones from there have broken, but it's going to be my service untill at least June 2008.. so I don't know..

If you cancelled now you would have to pay huge fees for backing out of your contract early. They'd get your money anyway. You could switch once your contract is up, though. Of course, I just looked at Prose's links and apparently so does Cingular (my service provider) so I'm inclined to think we'll be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't...

Thy Geekdom Come

There are pro-life cell phone companies, but they usually are just small providers...I don't know how they transmit calls without renting from pro-abortion companies and I don't know about their service or fees.

There is debate over boycotts of pro-abortion companies. I believe the head of the American Life League is actually against them because oftentimes they are ineffective and only damage the lower employees (who may or may not be pro-abortion) who need that money to support their families.

Goodness. This stuff drives me up a WALL. What about T-Mobile? I've never wanted to switch to them.. and I couldn't for just under two years anyway.. but .. do they?

i used to see commercials all the time on networks like TBN and such that advertised "Christian phone companies".. that wouldn't fund gay rights and stuff like that...sadly, I don't think those businesses lasted long.

There is a Catholic cell phone company, and they use the network of one of the major providers - I don't remember which one though and I don't know how they use the network without still contributing money to a company that supports abortion. :idontknow:

Anyway, we are certainly not morally obligated to boycott companies which give money to abortion supporters, if that was what you were asking. It's a personal choice.

Did you notice that Microsoft was also on that list? It may be possible to find a phone service that doesn't donate to pro-death causes, but how do you get around Microsoft??

Verizon, if I remember correctly, is not on the LDI boycott list. The funding of abortion that they do is likely a matching-gift program for employee donations. LDI does not track such organizations even though cash is still flowing to pro-abortion causes.

The Catholic cell phone company referred to is the Sienna Group (named for St. Catherine). Their cell service is Charity-Mobile.com. I have the service, and it works fine. You don't get picture messaging or mobile web or anything, basically just text and calls. They utilize PowerNet Global somehow to provide services, which I believe utilizes the Sprint network. I don't know if Sprint funds abortion in any way or not. I am not sure how Sienna's other service work.

There is also Pro Life Communications which also uses PowerNet for its cellular service. They are non-profit I think so more funds go to pro-life causes but it is not specifically a Catholic company I do not believe.

Both companies have a bunch of services if you want to check them out.
