These days its not longer than 1 and a half cms (less than an inch long). Ok, as it looks funny, I wear a scarf in public but I NEVER have a bad hair.....no hair to have one..... : Blessings, Belinda

HeavenlyCalling
I Have a white lace mantilla, It comes down to about my sholders, but I would like to get a longer on. There is one other girl in my parish who wear one, but she's not there a lot of the time because she's at Stebenville.
shortnun
OLAMDad gave it to me It's pretty interesting.
I've read the book as well. I wish there were more pictures. But it was an interesting read. I do not wear a mantilla. Perhaps one reason I do not, is I do not have a parish community. I have a work-church community, and I work at two additional parishes, and sometimes attend mass at a third parish. And if I wore a veil, I would want my decision to be respected by the larger community and respectful of that community (and most importantly motivated by my respect for Jesus). HeavenlyCalling
I thin it's kinda cool looking, but I have never worn one. When you see that headgear, you always know what order it is though, even in movies. I like to be able to tell at a glance what order a person is from. HeavenlyCalling
When I was watching the 'Phantom of the Opera', they have a nun with the old man. Mysister was like 'who is that' and me ( with my useless trivia) was like 'DAUGHTERS OF CHARITY OF ST. VINCINT DE PAUL' But you can always tell the SMME, the Servents of the Lord and the Virgin of Matara, the Missionaries of Charity, and the PCPA's just from one look, and I like that. Probably because it makes me feel smart, but still.
