One the bright side, labor can be a great way to earn graces for those that need them and release some souls from purgatory. (I offered my pregnancy discomfort and labor pains for a certain PhatMasser's mother.)

FX2
not to scare yall but my sister had an emergancy c section and almost bled to deat. It wasnt cus of the c section, it was cus of some kinda pregnacy drugs my mom took back in the 60's-70's (whenever my sister was born) that alowed my mom to have her. They took the drug off the market before i was born, or else the doctor would have given it to my mom again. oh well, i just wanted to be the first guy to post in this thread. have a nice day. Richard
Both times my wife gave birth she did it with no drugs! She didn't intend to, but she just sort of suffered in (relative) silence at home until the baby was almost out!!! Both times we arrived at the hospital too late to consider any sort of pain relief! Made for two interesing journeys to hospital in the car, though!!!

Shes probably gonna squeeze my hand till it breaks. I wound up with Matt in a headlock at one point! lol Richard, I'm guessing your wife must have pretty fast labors. We had to drive an hour, so we arrived at around midnight, Adrienne was born at 2:15. I didn't feel like using any drugs until about 15 minutes before she was born. lol

When my son was born (our second child) we were in the hospital for about half an nour before she delivered! Because the hospital was busy, we were put on a ward with loads of overdue mums to be. Imagine it, they're all fed up at being two weeks overdue with no signs of movement, when this couple show up at 10:00am and have had a baby by 10:30!!! Ha ha ha! My mum says she's fit to populate the earth - now there's a scary thought!
Kilroy the Ninja
I went in at 7 in the morning after my water broke and was having normal, regular contractions (with normal dialiation) when my doctor, for reasons unbeknownce to me, decided to give me petocin (sp?) - which, by the way, is OF THE DEVIL! Once I received the petocin I went from being able to have a normal conversation through a contraction to a quiver pile of screaming, painful jelly - and horrendous cocntractions 45 seconds apart. If they hadn't given me the epidural I would have given to myself! (A real sight that would've been!) I didn't wan the epidural - I had wanted to do the whole thing without drugs of any sort. As it turned out, it was a blessing I got the epidural when I did because I ended up having an emergency C-section since the baby Ninja Crusader had the cord wrapped around his neck not once, but twice - very efficient of him. He was blue when they took him out and they had to resucitate (again my spelling is off this morning) him - or sucitate him or what ever the technical medical term is... But God smiled upon us that day because Raymond came back to us and as far as anyone can tell, he suffered no ill effects from his trauma. If I should become pregnant again I will again attempt to have a drug-free birth and I recommend it to anyone who can do it, but I offer this advice - avoid petocin if at all possible and if they tell you you must have an epidural, just do it. Azriel
I was given petocin at the end, because my contractions weren't getting any stronger. They wanted me to have some extra help to push her out. FORTUNATELY, I'd already had the epidural so it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. However, if I hadn't have had the epidural....woooo hooo. I'd agree with Kilroy. Petocin is from the DEVIL.
