cmotherofpirl
The section dealing with homosexuality links listed does NOT reflect the teaching of the Church. Why are people not capable of social justice and faithful teaching at the same time is beyond me.
homeschoolmom
St. Andrew Parish recognizes that, as Jesus Christ was sent by God: To bring the good news to the poor, To proclaim liberty to captives, And to the blind new sight, To set the downtrodden free, To proclaim the Lord’s year of favor,” (Luke 4:18)
Hmmm... nothing about salvation or freedom from sin here.... Veritas
+ Run, don't walk away from this "church". They are not in obedience to the Holy Father or the Magisterium. Don't give them your money, don't give them your attendance, whatever it takes, go somewhere else and pray for this "church". Also, start slipping your boss some good catechetical information from Catholic Answers!

avemaria40
A parish may call itself Catholic, but if it is going against the Church, it isn't authentically Catholic. I guess they are trying to have their cake and eat it too, by having Catholic as the name but not accepting the hard teachings. Definitely find another parish, even if your boss doesn't agree. You do have the First Amendment to back you up and and what this parish is doing is causing scandal to the faithful. It isn't authentic Catholicism, no matter what claims the parish may make. People with same-sex attraction are called to chastity just as unmarried people are. They don't get special privleges.
stuckinamo
yikes! write a letter to the Pope or something if your bishop isn't doing squat! or maybe try an archbishop or cardinal first? when i first started reading this thread, i thought it was probably a methodist church or something. yikes! my prayers to them! mp15
exquisitebones, try Holy Rosary Church near the rose quarter. Lots of mass options and very orthodox. Here is their web site. http://www.holyrosarypdx.org/ Edited December 30, 2006 by mp15
Norseman82
Or, if you are adventurous, when they participate in a sodomite pride event, have a poster saying "Celebrate Perversity" handy.
