Emile James
Monastic Communities of Jerusalem/French/Italian/English/Polish established in Montreal, Canada,Paris, in Florence-Rome, in Strasbourg, in Brussels, in Magdala, in Sologne, in the greatest sacred places like Vezelay and the Sanctuary of Mont-Saint-Micheal,France, and soon Poland. In a response to the call of today's Church and to the expectations of this world and of the urban environment, the particular vocation of the brothers and sisters of Jerusalem is to live in the heart of the cities, in the heart of God. By common prayer and brotherly love, they want to give witness to the Lord, who is absolute, the only source of salvation and the hope of all life. They want to be conformed to Jesus' prayer in the Gospel, and to the example of the first Christian communities of Jerusalem, without leaving the world, but keeping themselves from the spirit of the world. The particular characteristic of the monks,Priests and nuns of Jerusalem is to embrace modern urban reality. Not a mixed Community, the Brothers and Sisters are assembled in unity only for Liturgies. In the classic cities, they give witness to God, the only Absolute, and they announce the Gospel of Christ through the testimony of a life given essentially to contemplation (especially in public silent eucharistic adoration, shared silent prayer, and lection divina in the cell) and to fraternal charity. But they got one house around Chicago. They have one postulant right now the first one in like twenty years. Augustinian Active Sisters of St. Rita http://www.sistersofstrita.org/ We hang out with these ladies some times. Emile James
LCSMR is LCWR (Leadership Conference of Women Religious)....this organization has alot of good women religious. It's the calling that is important.
Glory to Jesus Christ! "LOYAL;=unswerving in allegiance:faithful to a cause, ideal, custom, institution (Holy See), or product. How is Loyalty shown? the name catholic, ? gives automatic Loyalty? the Local Bishop hasn't excommunicated you? you have canonical approval?hmmm? belief, practice, what ever you want, just say your Catholic? I am assuming this post 'Loyal to the Holy See', means?? to The Church? Pope, magesterium, The Body of Christ which is the Church.. with respect for someone whom i do not know, everything i see or read from .the Organization it self, Leadership Conference of Women Religious (USA), or critiques from the faithful thereof, seems to be an organ of active dissent,dis-loyalty, radical-feminism, public pride..all primarily from the leaders, and speakers and out of touch with reality.. i wont even get into Joan Chittister.. though perhaps not as sad as up here with the Canadian Religious Conference , which to there credit actually mention the Lord Jesus on their website, their is a first for everything. Yes..the calling is important. call to what?.call to worship God? live for and love Jesus the Christ. all you have to do is compare both main Organizations general assemblies last year...night and day... http://www.lcwr.org/lcwraboutus/missionstatement.htm http://www.lcwr.org/lcwrannualassembly/ass...iesoverview.htm The required Buddhists at american sisters gatherings http://www.lcwr.org/lcwrannualassembly/200...ist%20monks.jpg cute One of the most celebrated cases of dissent was that of Sister Theresa Kane's (known for promoting womens ordination), intervention to John Paul II in October 1979. at the time as president of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious, she addressed the Holy Father during his visit to Washington. He refused to address her. Origins 18 October 1979. and here we have the other, quite different Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious. I ams sure in both organizations there are "many good women', and some bad, but thats not the point..
