Pfft... I asked this question months ago. :P:
We'll probably be going to 9 am and 3 pm masses on Sunday...

But my next question is... what about the following weekend? Monday, Jan. 1 is another HDO. So, we can go Sunday morning for Sunday and Sunday evening for the Vigil for Monday? :idontknow:

our priest has been hammering it into our heads to those who might not know about the twice in less than 24 hours of going to mass since it might be a new one for them lol.

"Its not going to hurt you people" (those who barely make it for Sunday mass) is what he's trying to say.

Yeah, it was fun listening to announcements last week... :hehehe:

"its okay, you're going to live" is the official diagnosis since some don't know its possible or permissable to go to mass more than once a week

Oh no... ours was more along the lines of our priest trying to soften the blow of the fact that people HAVE to go twice... without trying to sound too bossy.

The same is true over here in America. Although it is not a Holy Day we are still offering Mass.

BTW, this weekend is going to be full...I need to prepare 3 different homilies (4th Sunday of Advent, Christmas Vigil (family Mass) and the Christmas morning Mass...prayers definitely appreciated :)

God Bless

Right, because it is on a Monday...according to the bishops if a Holy Day falls on Saturday or Monday the obligation is "abrogated." It is silly, in my opinion, but that is the way it is on the books right now. Maybe it will change with my bishop in charge, since I know he says Mass everyday and encourages all priests to do the same...even on their day off :)

BTW, here is the direct quote from that link above: Whenever January 1, the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, or August 15, the solemnity of the Assumption, or November 1, the solemnity of All Saints, falls on a Saturday or on a Monday, the precept to attend Mass is abrogated.

God Bless
