Scared

There are many things one fears in life. I fear many things some I believe to be rational and many I believe to be irrational. What are some of your fears?

Of my many fears, I think my worst fear is the fear of failing. I think for me it is a crippling fear, because it causes me to hold back A LOT and for me to miss out on things that I am too scared to do. It also causes me to procrastinate, for example most of my friends are already accepted into college and I haven't even applied to any yet. I could go on and about the fear of failing, but i really don't have time right now to write a thesis...Please share!

I pray everyday that I do a good job raising my kids. I pray they will be ready for the world when they leave my house. And of course become good Catholics. :P

I'm afraid of becoming a lukewarm Catholic that Jesus will spit out of His mouth.

Hyperdulia, I will pray that you die a Catholic!

There's a guy in my town who is a nightclub bouncer turned motivational speaker (a strange combination, I know!) He's had a pretty amazing journey through life from a timid, afraid and bullied teenager to the huge, warm, giving personality he is today.

He developed a system called the "Fear Pyramid" to address one's fears, confront and overcome them. You list all the thinbgs you fear in ascending order (worst at the top) and simply expose yourself to them (over and over) one at a time until the feeling of fear goes away. Then you move onto the next fear on the list.

It's a HARD journey, but every fear you confront makes you a stronger person in the end. The overriding message though, is that the feeling of fear never goes away - it's a feeling as perfectly natural as wanting to use the toilet. Fear is a mechanism there for our survival (fight or flight), but has been misconstrued by society as a feeling of cowardice. By confronting your fears, you learn to cope with the feeling and recognise it as a natural reaction.

I'm sorry this has been hastily writen, I'll post a link to his website if anyone's interested in reading more.

I'm afraid to find out that something I do isn't in tune with God's Will, that He wanted more from me and I said no :sadder: . I'm afraid that I missed an opportunity to help other souls and I passed it up because I was thinking of myself. :(

Although we are to fear no one other than God himself, I find myself afraid for our country and the direction it is headed in. Sometimes I wonder if Sodom wasn't a more pleasant place to live than our present day America.

I'm afraid of ever losing my wife.

I'm afraid of not being where God wants me to be.

I'm afraid of hell.

I fear God, and failing God; I can honestly save that nothing else scares me... But I am Truely afraid of God, as I siad before I shake when I go to confession.

Fear is something I have struggled with my whole life. It may very well be the number one thing I have struggled with. I fear I am not a good enough Catholic. I fear I am not doing all that God wants me to do. I fear losing my son and husband. I fear my husband being sent overseas.

I will pray for all of your fears! I hope you will pray for mine, too.

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."

--Psalm 23:4

God bless. :)

I fear not being good enough. I fear death. Strike that. I fear the process and unknown of death.

I fear I don't have enough strength and that I don't go to God as I should.

I fear change. I fear college. I fear losing all of my friends and starting over.

I fear rejection. I fear failure. I fear not being good enough.

I fear sin.

Rats, and mice, and hamsters, and ferrets, and pretty much any rodent. I'm completely phobic of them. I will push a woman out of my way to run from them.
