Celebrities That Have Died

I was driving home and thought about actors and celebs that have died and the ones for whom I have actually felt a sense of loss. Don't get me wrong I am not indifferent to the rest and I did feel bad for all but I just actually felt worse for some and less for others. I don't know why. Maybe because some leave so fast and some have had a long rewarding life, who knows why we feel the way we do.

Princess Diana- I never followed this person's life. I never followed the lives of royalty. I never knew anything much about this person but the day I found out she died I felt so bad that I almost got choked up and that is saying a lot if you know me. I watched her funeral at the wee hours of the morn. To this day I do not know why that struck me like it did and that was right after the death of Mother Teresa which I did not feel as bad as Diana. I don't know why.

John Ritter - I guess I grew up watching him and it felt bad.

John Candy

Chris Farley

I am sure there are others but I just thought of these rigth now. How about you?

With Diana, she was leaving behind 2 boys that she meant the world to and vice-versa.

Mother Teresa was such a servant of God, she was called home. Other holy sisters were there to carry on her work.

I was sad at John Ritter. He was a very gifted man. His father, Tex Ritter, was a famous county/western singer and won an Academy Award for _Do Not Forsake Me, oh My Darling_ from High Noon.

I was sad at the loss of Cary Grant, John Candy, and others I will think of, but one I just found out about was the death of Tug McGraw. He just died of cancer. He was a pitcher with the '69 Mets and the '73 Mets. He coined the catch phrase for the team of "You Gotta Believe!" Sad. Young too.

Some actors/actresses were death bed converts: Gary Cooper, John Wayne, I will think of others.

who, just a week ago we were taling about this with some friends.

One of my friends said she was sorry some celebrity had died, and my other fried blew up at her, saying that so many millions of people die every day and no one feels the loss for THEM, why should celebrities be any different, just because they're famous, etc etc.

Whew, they blew up at each other

He's in a better place. :funeral:

Yeah he is. It was a shock because I did not know he was sick. I never watched his show but I knew he was a good guy.

Mr. Rogers...he always let me know that I was special. Are there any other old guys that kids actually like to listen too? I don't think so.

Anyway when Bill Cosby dies I will be extremely sad. :(:( :(

I cried when Mr. Rodgers died. I felt like I had lost a friend. I noticed that several of you listed him as well. It is to his great credit that he touched so many lives.

And I will feel the same way when Bill Cosby dies too.

John Ritter   I grew up watching his comedy and I loved it. I especially loved his "come back" show, Eight Simple Rules.

He was also Tim McGraw's father. (You know, the country singer...)

I don't really remember any famous people who's deaths have made a big impact on me. I know I've been sad at their loss, but I don't recall any really profound sense of loss or sadness. Maybe I just need to think on it more.

I was upset when Chris Farley died. He did alot of great things off camera for the less fortunate. SNL will never be the same.

I will seriously hurt and be broken hearted when the Pope passes away :(
