Paladin D
What should I do if I was to encounter a demon? And not having Holy Water nor a Priest to call? I found this site, and was wondering if these prayers should be used http://www.stmichael.pair.com/PRAYERS.htm .
hyperdulia again
Any prayer is good. The intercession of the Blessed Virgin and St Michael is however very potent at such times.
Paladin D
But am I allowed to also say those prayers on that page?
hyperdulia again
I like them. They are intense. If you're asking my permission, yes. If you're asking the Church's, yes again.

hyperdulia again
The prayer itself is fine, but the instructions in the green parentheses make God sound more like a tool to be used than a being to be loved and whose protection we need..I guess it's one of those interior state things..If your heart is right when you pray those prayers, then no biggy. Paladin D
So basically, rebuking demons Catholics can do? As long as they're in the state of Grace? But when it comes to exorcism, you MUST call a priest, correct?
hyperdulia again
We can rebuke demons. Their lay prayers of exorcism, but it is adv8isable to call a priest..most "exorcisms" in Prot churches actually would nnever even be cases thhat rose to the test for a Cath exorcism. hyperdulia again
i don't think being in a state of grace matters for rebuking a demon.
Paladin D
I got the impression that we as Catholics, shouldn't rebuke... since it gives them attention.
hyperdulia again
'Heavenly Father, let the healing waters of my baptism now flow back through the maternal and paternal generations to purify my family line of Satan and sin. I come before You, Father, and ask forgiveness for myself, my relatives, and my ancestors, for any calling upon powers that set themselves up in opposition to You or that does not offer true honor to Jesus Christ. In Jesus' Holy Name, I now reclaim any territory that was handed over to Satan and place it under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. ' That's weird
