Emotion
I know they are D-Boy. Jay has just lost his sence of being hood, you now being real. You can just feel it in his music. He's nothing but a memory. EM is still the same, real. Nas is still the same, real. GHOSTFACE, who is like almost 45, is still real. Jay has got caught up in his fame and says "Well Im no longer in the hood, so why should I act it?" He's not real. Thats the way me and bunch of my homeboys see it, its just an oponion. Michael Lopez
To me both are wrong for promoting violence and foulness of immoral practices. I am an ex gang member that was deep into a big gang here in cali for 17 years of my life. This music should not be infecting our youths minds with promiscuity, drug selling & use, plus some degrade women. Since I re-converted from a life of gang lifestyle, violence, selling and using hardcore drugs, and promiscuity I stay far away from listening to junk that is foul. Thats just me and my opinion and opinions are like you know what and everyone gots one. I stick to listening to Fr.Stan, peps from Phatmass, Gregorian chant things that will help nurish the soul not pollute the mind.
Emotion
Yo Michael Lopez dawg I understand what your saying. I too got caught up in gang violence. But thats besides the point. As a mexicano I was never educated to know that it was my decision to live that life style, nobody elses. For me to blame it on music is wrong of me. The promotion of Violence and the degration of our woman is wrong, but to some young vato like myself, those artists talk things and put it in a perspective that I understand and this real to me. They help me remember that my past is what made me, and I can and will never forget that. Eminem talks about his childhood and I can relate and he puts it in a way that is real to me. When Lil rob or Mr. Capone-E flow about the chicano gang bangin and hows it real and how it made them into the men they are, I feel the same way. Not all songs are degrading some are life. Now dont get me wrong I listen to all these homeboys on here, country music with my fiance, hip-hop (different catagories), banda, tejano, you know whatever. But for someone to blame music as something that kept on feeding thier apatite to live a certain way is, to me, bull.(Excuse my laguage) That just shows thier weak minded. It's common sence to know that murdering, dealing, callin women names and seeing them as a certain wrong and degrading way is wrong. Thats my oponion. [/quote] good points, gangs do pray on the weakminded no matter how much a gang member thinks they are head strong they are not (none of them) cause ultimatly they take orders from the elders in the State penn. Notice I said the music "infects the mind", an infection is multiple germs that mutats and eventually affect an area that needs some sort of medication . Music in our culture these days is just one germ of many that infect out society now days. Music and musicians lifestyles intrigue our youth and most try to mimic what they see or hear these days (that is a fact). Right now immorality is at an all time high from people rapping about violence and orgies, to maddona promoting homo sexuality and planned parenthood handing out condoms (these are truths). Like JP2 said we live in a "culture of death" that needs a "new pentecost" and a "new evangelization" a message of Love and the mercy of God that is the medication aspect of it. I never fully blamed music though but I do know they have some part to play in the impact on the influence of our culture. I have no problem with hip hop that is tastful and not violent. On the same hand if a country singer came out and was talking about slapping females, smoking weed then grabbing a colt ar-15 and a norinco ak-47 to go shoot up the cowboys in the bar down the road I would have a problem with that also. we need to reflect the love of Christ to light up the path for those that cant see it. que no carnale? Emotion
Yo cuz I understand exactly what your saying and agree. It is wrong, and I can probably say that it is a germ that needs to be dissenfected. I just don't see how most people can blame Eminem for hateing his mom, or marilyn manson for not beliveing in God or Jay-Z as a romodel in becomg the best hustler. They tell what they've been through and how they feel. To some thats the same, but they don't potray it as good, obviously. I guess we see the reason why todays society is so bad, becouse people are weak minded and let anything control them.
Michael Lopez
Yes you are right about the weak mindedness thing and also in the spiritual sense of things this is a battle in our culture of truth vs. lies. You ever heard Father Corapis' "immortal combat series","surrender is no option" or "battle for truth" E? He gets in depth about our culture of lies and deception and how we must gain back ground on the battle field of morality. Its really good stuff check it out carnale. Peace, Love and Joy of Jesus be with you this Christmas night! Viva Cristo Rey! May Mother Mary and St.Michael protect you and your family.
