hoosieranna
This may seem like nitpicking, but it's an honest question. What if a couple lives together before marriage, but they do not sleep together? At all? It does happen. I read the resources in the Directory, but they did not address this aspect. Laudate_Dominum
Catholics have a duty to avoid the occasion of sin and living together alone would surely qualify as an occasion of sin. If they happen to do it without falling into mortal sin that would be pretty interesting, but living together like that in the first place would be playing with fire and would probably not be respecting the purity and state of soul of the other person. If some hypothetical persons in this situation really believed they could live together without putting their souls in danger I would say they would also be guilty of presumption. It would also be scandalous and a bad example to others as well as a bad witness of their faith and commitment to chastity. IMHO
