IcePrincessKRS
Congrats!!!
awesome. welcome to the club... lots of high-profile PMers are presently engaged. we should make t-shirts. of the ones I can think of I was probably the first to get engaged , but will also probably be engaged for the longest period of time (I've already been engaged over a year now) lol.. you got your L_D, your Raphael, your YOU, your ME, et cetera... haha

Pfff... some of us were engaged before some PMers were even born... :
True.... I was mulling it over, and I think, really officially, the first person to announce they were getting married on phatmass was Jake Huether way back in the day (I distinctly remember him talking about it and the time he was absent while on his honeymoon)... I could be wrong, I haven't been here from the beginning like some others (Azzie and Cmom have been here pretty much from the start)... then of course there was inDEED (as I recall he got engaged right around the time that dUSt switched from the old phorum to this one). But I think that the first PMers to be engaged to one another (as opposed to ONE phatmasser being engaged to someone NOT a member) are actually LD and Luthien. Of course, knowing Al he will stress the emphasis on the word "presently."

toledo_jesus
As far as a date we're thinking next October. We've been dating for 4 1/2 years...there's not much mushy stuff left. It's all pretty straightforward with us.
True, I had forgotten about them... I can't remember if they were already engaged when they came to PhatMass or not... I am pretty sure they were by the time she joined, at any rate. I still think Jake was first, though...
littleflower+JMJ
Yup Katie, your right. It was definitely Jake Huether. Gosh, I miss him lots. Congratulations Toledo! Oh, how I love weddings! Especially good Catholic ones!
Catholictothecore
so yeah.. paperwork: write out a betrothal contract (not necessary to get betrothed, but you could make it all fluffy and cute or somethin lol) and find a priest who will do a betrothal for ya... plan out some cool devotions for you to commit to doing together for the sake of your engagement/betrothal.
Aloysius, Do you find that being betrothed, not just engaged, alters your...perception of preperation for marriage? Oh, and CONGRATS!
