This retreat is going awful!

I have the bishop coming, I have 2 youth bands booked, I have 5 speakers, I have everything set up...

And I have only 9 registered :(

I am freaking out!!

PLEASE PLEASE pray.

The retreat is December 8-9.

I would hate to have to cancel everything....

Well, I don't know alot about this stuff but maybe you could...

Go stumping to other parishes [and their youth directors] See if you can get a word in after Mass, before the recessional. Set up tables somewhere and get the kids signed on board for the retreat. Be sure to mention fun, bands, food and the parents will perk up at the thought of their child having the Bishop there.

Get some volutneers to help "spread the message" since you are only one person and can't cover each and every church.

See if you can get a small "interview" with the diocese newspaper that details your upcoming event and all the info. If there's an on-line way to print out the form and mail it that might be cool.

Hope maybe this helps some???

Many prayers for you!

I found a sure fire solution to making a retreat a success. When I started getting my leaders together a week before the retreat for a rosary, we would always have a successful retreat.

photosynthesis

do something like "I'll dye my hair blue if 100 people register for the retreat" Or something like that. high school kids love that stuff.
