FaustinaVianney
Well, if you can't tell my by name my two fave saints are St Faustina and St John Vianney. I love the Divine Mercy. It's what is is all about. St Vianney is an amesome model of dying to self. "I must decrease and He must increase." He lived it so perfectly, always helping others. It's soooo beautiful! Well, I love St Dominic (I hope to become a Dominican), St Catherine, St Thomas Aquinas, St Therese, JPII, the list goes on!!! Anyone that is willing to live their life for the God Almighty is SOOO EXCITING!!!
the_rev
Well, my favorite saint is St. Jude, I carry the prayer card in my pocket, and I'll say it a few times during school, and I'm never been left out with his intercession. Well here are a few of my other favorites: Padre Pio St. Therese of Liseux St. Dominic St. John Vinney St. Peter Maximillian Kolbe and Mother Teresa
M.SIGGA
Pier Giorgio Frassati and Pope John XXIII are my two favorites. These two help me out all the time, but my favorite devotion is actually to the Sacred Heart of Jesus!
willguy
I have MANY Patrons. Let's see... Mary - nuff said (especially as Our Lady of Perpetual Help and Queen of the Clergy). St. Joseph - one of the two patrons of my vocation. I identify with God asking you to do something odd or unexpected. St. Benedict - the other patron of my vocation because it was a retreat at a Benedictine Abbey where I really admitted to myself that God was calling me. St. Francis - my baptismal saint, he's been my patron my whole life. I also love nature, the outdoors, and his peaceful life. Sts. Cecilia and Gregory - I like music (and am a musician), they are patrons of music. St. Aloysius Gonzaga - My confirmation saint. Patron of Catholic Youth. Great man. St. Dominic Savio - patron of youth and a model of child-like faith. St. Christopher - I like to hike/backpack and he's the patron of travellers. Sts. Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael - they're archangels. Plus, Michael is my protector and Raphael for the same reason as St. Christopher. Martyrs - especially the Martyrs of Gorkum and Martyrs of Nagasaki.
Ellenita
I'm fairly new to the idea of asking a saint to pray for you about something specific but I had the most amazing example of this happening this week and don't think I'll ever question it again! A friend of mine has been trying to move out of a very difficult situation, buying and selling a house in a chain involving seven different people. The legal stuff has been going on for months and months and the stress has been dreadful. Yesterday her solicitor told her that once again the contracts would not be exchanged that day - it was about an hour before all the firms closed for business. So I decided to go and pray for a miracle and asked St Rosa of Lima to pray too - my friend is Peruvian and originally from Lima. Literally ten minutes after I had finished praying the solicitor rang to say that all contracts had been exchanged and a moving date has been set - on my friend's birthday! :D :D I've been happy dancing ever since! Thank you St Rosa for praying, and our Father for listening and answering our prayers!
hopeful1
joan of arc has been my favorite since i read a book about her in 8th grade, and i chose her as my confirmation saint. I was a tiny bit of a feminist back then ( but not one that lost her mind ) and the fact that she was just a lowly, uneduacated, peasant girl just a few years older than me at the time, and she was chosen by god to lead an army to crown the true king of france, and then at the end , even in the time of her trial and execution she refused to back down and deny her faith. HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!! She gives me the courage to get through the day when i'm going through a tough time and to stand up for my faith ( even tho i still retreat like sir robin the brave in MP & HG ) she's probably the only saint i've been able to develope any devotion to and she inspires me. btw, marielapin, that's a really cool advatar. I've been looking online everywhere for a Joan of Arc advatar and can't seem to find any. Where did you find that one ( promise i won't steal it)? BLAZEr
Pier Giorgio Frassati and Pope John XXIII are my two favorites. These two help me out all the time, but my favorite devotion is actually to the Sacred Heart of Jesus! There you go. Now the Sacred Heart is what I'm all about. Seriously, except for the fact that we look nothing alike . . . I would say we were brothers . . . well, and then there is that Democrat thing . . . IcePrincessKRS
See? I told you we didn't ruin it Blazer! Howsabout Saint Monica (abuse victims, alcoholics, alcoholism, difficult marriages, disappointing children, homemakers, housewives, married women, mothers, victims of adultery, victims of unfaithfulness, victims of verbal abuse, widows, wives) and Saint Augustine (brewers, diocese of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Cagayan de Oro, Philippines, diocese of Kalamazoo Michigan, printers, city of Saint Augustine, Florida, diocese of Saint Augustine, Florida, sore eyes, diocese of Superior, Wisconsin, theologians, diocese of Tucson, Arizona) ! And of course the FIRST thing listed that Augustine is patron of is waaay important. We wouldn't have any good booze without him! WOOT! Ironic that his mom is patron of alcoholics and he's patron of brewers. Ask for the intercession of both and you're good to go. lol
BLAZEr
I recaptured it thanks. Oh, and Augustine is patron of brewers because most of the monks brewing in Germany (before der Luther) were Augustinian monks.
