In fact, Nathan, some bibles translate that word as division . . . I don't know the Greek word that's used there, but I don't think I've ever heard that passage used (by a saint, or bishop or pope) to suggest that Christ is in favor of war.

I have.

dog" in Aramaic (the Language Jesus most likely spoke) in the year 30 AD doesn't have the meaning it does in the English language in the year 2004, especially when directed at a woman.

AS much as I want to get into this one I can't, Dust and i called a cease fir about this one more than a year ago, suffice it to say I disagree Jake, Christ ment it to be a rude statement, Christ was rude more than once.

It seems to me Christ rejected the women's offering the first time because she came to him without expressing true faith, and didn't explicitly recognize him as Lord. When she refers to Him so, he grants the request. Jesus, being omnicient and knowing her TRUE thoughts, may have only made the original comment to bring out the women's faith. Dog could also be used to describe fellow Jews or Christians.
