Wow! 81%! BTW, how is that possible when there is 20% no?
:idontknow: I couldn't figure that out either. My best guess is that they rounded it up?

Democratic Gov. John Baldacci fended off challenges from the right and left on Tuesday and was elected to a second four-year term to complete what he described as an unfinished job as Maine's chief executive.

Baldacci defeated Republican Chandler Woodcock, independent Barbara Merrill and Green Independent Pat LaMarche, each of whom qualified for public financing to run their campaigns against the privately funded incumbent.

Unofficial returns from 29 percent of Maine's precincts showed Baldacci with 40 percent of the vote, Woodcock with 28 percent, independent Barbara Merrill with 21 percent and Green Independent Pat LaMarche with 10 percent. Phillip Morris NaPier had 2 percent of the votes.

I'm waiting for the results of one major election that would effect my county and all our area between some lame guy and some good guy. Last update anyone has up yet is that the good guy is up slightly. I really want to know who won though!!! :(

Oh. I didn't know this thread was here. I posted this in the debate forum.

I'm already sad over other pro-life losses. Santorum lost. Allen lost. Embryonic death and cloning bill in Missouri currently winning. Talent lost. Now South Dakota's pro-life initiative fails. :sadder:

We'll have to wait to try again when the momentum swings the other way

True. :sadder: I really can't believe about Santorum.

However, at least the same-sex "marriage" ban was passed everywhere.

Our two parties last evening were very depressing as both candidated conceded from the race. Mark Green lost the bid for WI Governor, and for the first time a Democratic Governor has won re-election. Millionaire Doctor Steve Kagen a democrat edged the WI assembly speaker, John Gard, for the seat that Mark Green relinquished to run for the governorship.

Wisconsin though has defined marriage as being between one man and one woman and sadly we said that if the legislature in WI wanted to do so, the majority of Wisconsinites support the re-instatment of the death penalty.

Anyways, it's always sad to see all your work you did almost have been done in vain. But we will persevere.

Awesome pro-life incumbent governor of MN -Tim Pawlenty has edged ahead 10,000 votes in a VERY tight race, but it's still too close to call!

Still waiting.....

Something I'm missing here? They're saying 99 percent of precincts are reporting. It was very close (1 percentage point) but it seems like it's pretty certain that Pawlenty is the guy ... :idontknow:

I honestly think that the devil's hand is present is the direction of our country more then ever.

The fact that the Democrats are taking over is a slap in the face to the pro-life movement, along with South Dakota and Missouri assaulting life at the polls.

Arizona has lost respect for marriage and San Francisco values are now in charge of the agenda in the house.

It is just the next day and I can already sense the insecurity setting in. The terrorist probably had just as many parties as the democrats last night. This will be a long next two years. Let us pray that we will remain safe.

The divide between lukewarm christians and radical christians is growing even larger. I pray that God would come and harvest soon.

Every victory for a pro-choicer, is a victory for Satan.
I understand what you're saying, but I don't really think this is a big victory for pro-choicers.

Maybe a small one. I'm not happy about it, don't get me wrong. But I'm waiting to see just how much pro-choice legislation results from this in the next two years. I'm guessing, not much. I dunno I could be wrong.

I agree that this is not a victory for pro-choicers.

I doubt most people were thinking about abortion when they voted. I think more people were thinking about Iraq and wanting to see some way of getting out of that mess.

I want to know how in the world Iraq became the prime issue in the election. I could think of a few issues that are bigger than Iraq, without even bringing up the unborn. Iran, Africa, drugs in America, keeping God out of or inside of schools, conflict in the Middle East, Darfuf, Uganda.

It's like we are expected to believe Iraq is the biggest issue, just because the media covers it all the time.

Yeah. The only thing I can be happy about is that some of our military actions may be reduced. Nothing else really pleases me all that much at the moment.

Rise up, thou Catholic Party!
