Does this mean he can't run for the presidency? I am watching the official Virginia election site and he's still ahead.

Well I'm on CNN.com, which has absolutely no liberal bias.

Kinda like how the Red Sox fans don't have an anti-Yankees bias.

Reported in Australia

WASHINGTON, Nov 7 (Reuters) - Democrats swept Republicans out of power in the U.S. House of Representatives and made gains in the Senate on Tuesday, riding to victory on a wave of public discontent with the Iraq war, corruption and President George W. Bush's leadership.

Two years after a decisive election victory for Bush and his Republicans, Democrats picked up at least the 15 seats they needed to win control of the House for the first time since 1994, according to TV network projections.

Nancy Pelosi spearheaded the Democratic takeover of the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday, positioning herself to become the first woman to lead the chamber -- and President George W. Bush's worst political nightmare.

House Democratic leader since 2003, the California liberal framed the elections as a referendum on Bush, his unpopular Iraq war and the scandal-rocked, Republican-led House.

"Democrats support change," Pelosi told a victory party in Washington. "Democrats propose a new direction for all Americans, not just the privileged few."

Pelosi, 66, appears certain to be elected House speaker by fellow Democrats when the new 110th Congress convenes in January, replacing Dennis Hastert, an Illinois Republican.

Under U.S. law, the speaker is second in the line of succession to the presidency, behind only the vice president.

Pelosi has said she will not try to end U.S. funding of the Iraq war, will pressure Bush to shift course, begin a phased redeployment of U.S. troops and require Iraqis to take greater responsibility for their own nation.

Pelosi was often ignored or even mocked by Bush during his first six years in office but the Republican president would have to work with her once she takes the gavel if he expects to get much done in his final two years.

Per CNN:

Webb 1,141,052 50%
Allen 1,138,676 49%

Per Virginia:

G F Allen Republican 1,141,753 49.44%
J H Webb Jr Democratic 1,139,885 49.36%

Someone obviously goofed. I doubt it's CNN the not-liberally-biased. :P:

That's clearly erroneous. I wonder if they have it reversed.

Glenn Beck said, in so many words, that the key issue is North Korea and their nukes?

It seems to be the one issue people aren't paying much attention to. I'm concerned, myself.
Don't be too concerned about North Korea. They won't bomb anyone on purpose. Neither will Iran. If people are worried about nukes, they should be paying attention to Russia where there are hundreds of nuclear weapons sitting behind simple fences being watched by underpaid security guards waiting to be stolen and sold on the black market.

I can. I feel a trend.
I disagree. It tends to be a cycle. One power gets all of the power, and peole get all fed up with them because all they get is stuff from one side. Then people forget what they disliked about the other side, because they aren't in power. They switch allegiances, and as a result, one party can't stay in power for too long.

I'm not getting too unhinged by this election, personally. People have been saying we are on the verge of apocalyptic sinfulness since 3000 B.C.
