That's awesome that you got to spend time with them! I poked around the site for St. Charles Home and found the sisters own site -----Daughters of Mary, Mother of Healing Love

The Sisters broke away from the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady, Mother of the Church to form the new order. They also do the DeMonfort Consecration to Jesus through Mary. I might just go drop them a line..... pray that they get lots of vocations!

they're so sweet :saint:

their apostolate is quite beautiful!! the Lord has certainly called them to do some very important work. at such a hard time in these children's lives...imagine how blessed they are to go into such a holy, Catholic home!! such wonderful support! they've said that adoption agencies and such will say "How did you transform them so much!?" and they're just like "well they had God this time! it's God!"

praise Him! :)

Do you know why they broke away to form a new order? Couldn't they have performed the same mission with the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady, Mother of the Church?

St. Charles History
St. Charles began as an orphanage in 1913. In 1968, it became a home for children of families in crisis, and in 1973, the last orphan was placed. Originally staffed by the Grey Nuns of Canada, in 1968 the administration of the Home was transferred to the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady, Mother of the Church, whose Motherhouse is in Baltic, CT. In 2003, the Sisters of Charity felt it necessary to withdraw from St. Charles. After a period of intense prayer, discernment and consultation, four Sisters obtained permission from Rome to separate from the Sisters of Charity to form a new private Association dedicated to the healing and care of children who have been removed from their families of origin.
The Daughters of Mary Mother of Healing Love work with both the children and families with the hopes of reunification. This is sometimes not possible and the children remain at the home until another permanent placement can be found.

that's what it said on the website! :)

Sister Mary Rose

Hello!  Finally here is one of the Daughters of Mary, Mother of Healing Love entering the discussion!  We are working on our website so before too long it should be active!  Meanwhile you can enter our annual Labor Day 5K (or at least read about it) at: http://runningnuns.com/

We are a private Association of consecrated women (approved in 2007) living and working at St. Charles Children's Home in Rochester, NH.  We do wear the full habit and we do love the Holy Father!  Our apostolate is healing love; this takes several forms including: praying, caring for children, teaching public school children who have emotional or behavioral disorders, speech pathology, physical therapy, counseling, helping parents and teachers deal with their children's difficult behaviors, and speaking on various topics.

God bless you all and lead you to the fullness of your identities as unique images of God!
