As for the CFFC paragraph, there is nothing in Catholic tradition that supports the pro-choice position. It is definitive:
I declare that direct abortion, that is, abortion willed as an end or as a means, always constitutes a grave moral disorder, since it is the deliberate killing of an innocent human being. This doctrine is based upon the natural law and upon the written Word of God, is transmitted by the Church's Tradition and taught by the ordinary and universal Magisterium.

I have no doubt that some of my university tuition went to the women's center which supports contraceptives (including handing them out) and abortion. Some of my tuition went to the Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity which used some of that money to buy condoms and lube to hand out for free to the homosexual community. Some of my money went to Student Health which prescribes birth control and morning after pills and counsels their use. By attending that university am I guilty of those things?
And my taxes are used for foreign aid to countries who have population control as their policy, including abortion and contraception. And my taxes support Planned Barrenhood. But I have no choice in the matter. If I don't pay my taxes, I go to prison. Members of "churches" who support abortion knowingly pay for it through their contributions. They could choose not to support abortion by withdrawing their membership. Many pro-life folks have done exactly that. One situation is providing voluntary support, the other involuntary.

Before everyone starts slapping Budge around with a trout, stop for a sec and breathe. Now heft that mighty trout and whack those upside the head that REALLY need to be fish-slapped: those 'catholics' who support abortion, especially those in or formerly in our funky Congress.

Ted 'chappaquiddick' Kennedy
John 'medal tosser' Kerry
Geraldine 'chicken legs' Ferraro
Joe 'commie' Biden
Thomas 'skank' Daschle
Patrick 'just another drunk' Kennedy
Nancy 'death to america' Pelosi

I know I have missed some...continue the list please?

Before we go after the Prots that support the wholesale slaughter of our babies, we should go after those who should know better because of the graces given to them.

Groo, the Catholic Church is the strongest pro-life organization in the country. The Church is responsible for what she teaches, not for dissidents who act in direct contradiction to her teaching. I agree that these folks you have named (and more) are disgraceful. What do you recommend? Bamboo shoots under the fingernails?

Where were you when Budge was beating us up over the Inquisition?

Indeed, pray for us.

It is sad to see so many churches falling astray to pro-choice. I guess its post-modernism and regular grade A moderism. Man's attempt to stir up the pot of God's desinty for him. Humans seem to be like the farm animal that continously shocks himself on the fence, just to see how far he can get to the "bigger picture."

I had an exchange of ideas yesterday with a representative of the Christian Democratic Appel (the biggest Christian party in my country, currently in government, the Prime Minister is a member). I asked him how it was possible that abortion is still legal while they have been in government for four years.

He said things about how they introduced a waiting period and set up programs for young mothers to stay in school and how they must make concessions and stuff, as members of a multi-party government.

:ohno:

If you call yourself a Christian, you can NOT support abortion.

I hate politics. :(

Of course I do not hold the Church guilty for the actions of individuals, silly. If I gave that impression, I musta been low on caffiene! :o

My suggestion: more of our Bishops take the lead and announce the self-excommunication that these transgressors have chosen, then instruct the priests of their dioceses to uphold said excommunication. I'm with Fr. Corapi on this point :sadder:

Missed the Budge/Inquisition threads. I think it was while I was on retreat with our confirmation kids. Don;t think she could really beat us up anyway - most of her arguments are as effective as cutting down a tree with a herring. :idontknow:
