Guest Guest_guest
You've fallen away from the Church for a number of years, you come back go to confession, you tell Father I've pretty well broken every sin you can think of... Father welcomes you back, grants you absolution, hears you very deeply meant act of contrition and sends you on your way... Was this a valid confession. Pontifex
The priest should have asked you to elaborate for the sake of your confession. I apologize on behalf of my brothers. We are on to confess all Mortal sins that we are consciously aware of in number and in kind. Meaning, we must say what the sin was and how many times it was committed. If there are things that you cannot honestly recall, than don't worry, it is taken care of. For the sake of your own conscience, I would encourage you to make another confession and explain to the priest how long it has been. Most, I say most, priests will be patient and listen and try to help you through it. God bless you, Fr. Pontifex
