geetarplayer
What should I do if, oh, I don't know, I accidentally got D-cell battery acid all on my forehead? I assume it would burn tremendously since about 3:30, when I would have first gotten it on my forehead. I suppose by now I probably would have already tried to wash it off twice with soap and water, but I don't think that would have stopped the burning. -Mark P.S. Actually, this isn't really a hypothetical question. Please help me.
IcePrincessKRS
Um.... have you tried dish detergent? Ya know, gets grease out of your way? Have you called a docs office to see what they suggest?
cmotherofpirl
Call your doc or ER for advice. Do you have any silvedene?
MrsFrozen
Hi, Geetarplayer. I'm sure you'll be okay, but you might want to call the doctor or hospital for advice. That's def what I would do. God bless! :)
geetarplayer
My dad said baking soda works against battery acid. So I took a shower and then put some baking soda on it. Question: If it's burning even more than before, does that mean it's working? -Mark
IcePrincessKRS
I wouldn't think so... call the doc!!!!
geetarplayer
I washed the baking soda off. Then I flushed water from the sink onto my forehead for about ten or fifteen minutes. It feels dried out, and it looks red, but it doesn't burn as much. Hardly burns at all. -Mark Edited January 13, 2004 by geetarplayer

BLAZEr
D-Cell battery acid is harmless . . . unless you eat one. The baking soda should work . . . it's an ACID so you have to use a BASE to neutralize it . . . other bases . . man I stunk at Chemistry . . . Got any charcoal lying around? That will work too . . . geetarplayer
I had a couple quick thoughts about acids and bases while wondering what to do. It was either, "I'll put a base on it. That will neutralize it," or, "Better not put a base on it. Then it'll explode." By the way, I've discovered that battery acid is a great exfoliator. :graduate: Heh heh... -Mark
