Muschi
Hi all! I used to attend church under the Assemblies of God. They have it all. They have the big screens, the pre-recorded announcements, and they even have the theater chairs to go along with this sort of "ambiance". Recently I was disturbed to hear drums being played "a la pentecostal style" during the song traditionally sung during the penetential rite at a local parish. If our Masses ever become like Pentecostal services then I'm going to write the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (I hope I have that right, I'm only a 1 1/2 year old Catholic/34 years old) every day until someone responds to me satisfactorily why this should be ok. I hate "Modernism" in all its forms. I hope I don't sound too radical but I think there has to be a point where enough is enough! - God bless! - Muschi
inDEED
because you go to St. Mary's and Fr. Clements is amesome! :D :D :D :D :D :D I just went to Mass @ St. Tim's tonight... Fr. inDEED
Having the words to the readings printed in missalettes is hardly an invisible use of technology... Similarly, using a screen for words to readings, songs, and such could be very useful... The MONSTER ANT IS BACK!!! How goes it, Ryan??
inDEED
I do agree that Mass is NOT and should NOT be about "us" and "our experiences"... Too often I've seen Mass turn into a place where what people "feel" or "experience" takes precedence over the sacrifice and reverence of the Mass. The celebration of the Mass is (if I may take the words from Matt Maher), "heaven kissing earth". The Mass occurs with or without us. We should feel so honored to be present during the most Holy Mass.
