Father Malachi Martin

You know, I have heard from others here, and other places that Windswept is a good read...

I'll have to put that book in my personal "must-read Queue"
I really do want to read it - and while I understand it is fiction, I am sure there is more fact to it than, say - Da Vinci

I've read almost all of Fr. Malachi's book's and listened to almost all of his interviews. In everything I've heard and read by him he stated his allegiance to J.P. The Great and his approval of, then, Cardinal Ratzinger.

Once he died, many used his celebrity status to lend credence to their own positions. For instance, he stated his opposition to the Medjugorje apparitions. After his death, one group tried to claim he approved of them, (he did, however, believe in the undecided apparitions of Garabandal).

M. Scott Peck became Fr. Martin's student in his later years. He recounts his experiences with Malachi Martin in his book, "Glimpses of the Devil".

On a personal note, I would probably not be a Catholic today without his influence. Since becoming a Catholic, I've only met one person/Priest whom I consider his equal. He's a lowly Franciscan Priest who will never ascend to higher office because of his refusal to prevaricate and play the political games to ascend in any hierarchy.

If anyone is interested in hearing his interviews, contact me.
