Mercy me
I am very much in favor of competition for public schools. I am not clear what it means to have a conservative school. I am not sure that I would favor that. However, I am in favor of schools that were not so scewed. I am sick and tired of schools teaching moral relativism, political correctness or whatever you want to call it.
Kosh
Public schools are no good. It'd be great if the government got out of education all together, they have no right to be there.
That's just it... to think that no government schools somehow equals "we all have to pay huge fees" is silly. It's just as silly as saying "no government department of transportation means us peasants have to pave our own roads" Private enterprise can do anything better, more efficiently, and much cheaper than the government EVERY TIME. Privatize education… (and then break up the rest of the government monopoly.) ALSO: : as a bonus, the paying public has more freedom and say with competing businesses than with the single bureaucratic government. Lounge Daddy
Education then, beyond all other devices of human origin, is the great equalizer of the conditions of men, the balance-wheel of the social machinery. --Horace Mann
Sure thing, and very true. And it is dangerous to assume and trust that our government will educate our children… It’s as dangerous as assuming government will heal the sick, clothe the naked, and feed the hungry. Why do we make presumptions of government-or-nothing today? This collective government dependency didn’t exist 200, 100, and even –largely- 50 years ago. “Any government that can give you anything - can take away everything.” ---Ronald Reagan
desertwoman
I'm for public education and I don't see why we now see it as a monopoly. Is this all based on the moral issue, or is it about the education combined with the moral issue.
