PhoenixLament87
capuce--the white hood&short cape that the friars and some sisters wear. I don't think any other order calls it this but I could be wrong.
Sister Mary Catharine, et al, Well, at least the Capuchin Franciscans wear the capuce, as it's in their name! As far as I know, it was adopted by them at their founding, since it was associated with poverty, an original Franciscan virtue to which the Capuchin friars desired to return. InPersonaChriste
Ok I am kinda new to the world of habits, we dont see them here in Canada, and I was wondering... Why does the Dominican habit have that little white cape thing, sorry I dont know what it is called, and do any others wear it or is that specific to the Dominicans? And why is the Dominican habit white? Does it have special meaning like the brown of Franciscans? Thanks!
Canadians FTW :D
