melikalani
Here are a few of my favorites! Saint Francis of Assisi "I have been all things unholy. If God can work through me, He can work through anyone." "When I say 'Hail Mary', the Heavens bow down, the angels rejoice, the earth jubilates, hell trembles, and the devils take flight." Saint Augustine "If you believe what you like in the Gospel, and reject what you do not like, it is not the Gospel you believe, but yourself." Saint Therese of Lisieux “I am simply content to find myself always imperfect, and in this I find my joy. Good deeds count as nothing, if done without love.” Saint Philip Neri "If you wish to go to extremes, let it be in sweetness, patience, humility and charity." Pope John Paul II the Great, Servant of God "You must be strong, dear brothers and sisters. You must be strong with the strength that comes from faith." "Man is a pilgrim all his life, traveling towards a goal, seeking the face of God." "In comparison with the love of Jesus, everything else is secondary. And without the love of Jesus, everything else is useless." "And yet I do not altogether die, what is indestructible in me remains!"
Guest T-Bone
Gentlemen, I am a Catholic. As far as possible, I attend Mass everyday. This is a rosary. As far as possible, I kneel down and tell these beads everyday. If you should reject me on account of my religion, I shall thank God He has spared me the indignity of being your servant. my EVERYTHING!
My favorite is from Pope John Paul II. "Many people today are pussled and ask: What is the point of the consecrated life? ... What in people's eyes can seem a waste is, for the individuals captivated in the depths of their heart by the beauty and goodness of the Lord, and obvious response of love, a joyful expression of gratitude for having been admitted in a unique way to the knowledge of the Son and to a sharing in His divine mission in the world. EcceNovaFacioOmni
St. Thomas of Aquinas, after a lifetime of writing some of the greatest theology in the history of the Church:
Such things have been revealed to me that all that I have written seems to me as so much straw. Now I await the end of my life.
http://chi.gospelcom.net/DAILYF/2001/12/da...2-06-2001.shtml

Era Might
"It is not among the palm trees that I wish to die, but among the poor who are Jesus Christ." --St. Luigi Orione "Dear young people, the happiness you are seeking, the happiness you have a right to enjoy has a name and a face: it is Jesus of Nazareth, hidden in the Eucharist. Only he gives the fullness of life to humanity! With Mary, say your own "yes" to God, for he wishes to give himself to you." --Pope Benedict XVI He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away." --Revelation 21:
Yeah, at Steubenville, the president quotes GK Chesterton in every single speech and homily that I've heard from him... It's great! He should be called GK "Quotesmith" Chesterton! "We think the cat superior because we have (or most of us have) a particular philosophy to the effect that life is better than death. But if the mouse were a German pessimist mouse, he might not think that the cat had beaten him at all. He might think he had beaten the cat by getting to the grave first. Or he might feel that he had actually inflicted frightful punishment on the cat by keeping him alive." - GK Chesterton in Orthodoxy I love this quote, even though it's goofy!
