And it's great. People can enjoy being outdoors and (within proper zoning areas) fire guns into the air-- or even into the body of wild animals! Singapore is densely populated. They don't have the luxury of being able to shoot a gun into the air for jollies without the bullet landing on someone. See, so it sort of makes sense that shooting a gun into the air of a densely populated society should carry a heavy penelty, since someone probably ends up dead in this case.
