Jake Huether
This was mentioned on the Black Mass thread. Witches and Satanists take an interest in the Eucharist. The Body and Blood of Jesus. They come to Mass, steal the Blessed Sacrament and then use it in desecration ceremonies. In fact, real witches and satanists presumably can tell the difference between a unconsecrated host and a Consecrated Host. That being said... Do Protestants know about this? If they do, I have a few questions: How do they reconcile this with some denominations belief that the Catholic Church is of satan and or for satan? I realize not all denominations believe that about the Church. But even the ones that don't seem to shreak at the things we do. Also, do witches and the like come to desecrate your holy objects? Have they been known to steal Protestant Communion? It just seems peculuare to me that the Catholic Church is desecrated by witches and satanists, yet also catches flack from non-Catholic and secular sources. If it isn't the Church of Christ, you must admit this is a fairly odd phenom.
Aloysius
also, ppl really into satanism and all that come to be able to recognize when it is a consecrated host and when it isn't.
mulls
my guess, and it's only my guess, would be that people in general view catholicism as more 'mystical,' with the eucharist as actual body and blood, with veneration of saints, and the like. so these witches and satanists would be more enamored with desecrating catholicism than anything else, since to an outsider it seems to have some tangible, supernatural elements. aquamarine
>>In fact, real witches and satanists presumably can tell the difference between a unconsecrated host and a Consecrated Host.<< Well, aren't the Consecrated Hosts that aren't used during Mass kept in the Tabernacle and the unconsecrated ones not? I think, because ritual and tradition are such a part of Catholicism, it's easier and perhaps more satisfying for Satanists to attack the Church by mocking their ceremonies. willguy
Another question: How do non-Catholics, who do not believe in transubstantiation, feel about this desicration of the Eucharist? Just curious.
