aquamarine
No, I absolutely wouldn't! I'm such a liberal Catholic I'm probably more 'Protestant' than Catholic anyway in some people's eyes. I'm also not so certain about a lot of the things many conservative Catholics come across as absolutley certain on, so I really enjoy the Protestant perspective. Plus, in a weird way, Protestants keep the Catholic Church honest, so to speak. :D Edited January 12, 2004 by aquamarine
mulls
I think different denominations will disappear as error is abandoned. Religion will become "The Way" and will no longer be "The Ways". We'll be all traveling together, in unision, one body, one goal, one faith, one family. Headed to our Father's house. how do you figure this? That just sounds creepy! Having serious flashbacks to Pink Floyd's The Wall. Umm..I think, actually, I'd prefer 'ways' to 'way'.
willguy
aqua, I agree with you kind of. I agree that we can learn from differences. For example, I like the chotki of Eastern Orthodox faiths. However, I do not think there is more than one truth. So, while I like multiple ways in terms of practice, I do not like multiples ways in terms of claimed truth. Don John of Austria
If you could stomp-out Protestantism would you? I mean, if there actually was a way, would you condone it? Yup. Wait did I say that to quickly. Yes in an instant. - Protestantism is a lie, Islam is a lie, Buddism is a really really big lie, Hinduism is worse, the Neopagans can't even make the Cut as lies they are just stupid lies. I would like to see all of these things destroyed and people united with Christ through His Church which he founded. To Hope otherwise would be hateful and dispicablein the extreme. dUSt
Was this directed at me? No. Not at all. I just thought it was a relevant quote for this thread.
PedroX
I thought the Holy Spirit kept us Catholics honest. And here all along it was the protestants? Can I get a refund on my RCIA? peace...
aquamarine
Well...hence the 'so to speak'...I was being somewhat facetious. Not that there ain't some truth in it, either. I often wonder if it weren't for Protestants, whether we'd be focussed on men rather than God and the Bible too much.
jasJis
how do you figure this? Denominations only are used to show a difference in belief. If we all know the same thing as fact, why would there be a difference. It would be One Faith, without difference in objective belief, only difference of subjective opinion. ;)

willguy
aqua or bruce, I think I know what you're trying to say, but care to explain what you mean by Protestants keeping Catholics honest. And who's keeping the Protestants honest?
Bruce S
And who's keeping the Protestants honest? Good question. No one I guess. Burn us at the stake. We deserve it. Grin. XXXX

Guest GodsPrincess
I don't believe it is possible at all - we've come too far! OR it's as possible as it is to wipe out Catholics...both are strong in their own right.
