Brother Adam
I have finally figured out that I needed to call IPB (forum company). I have given them the information they need to look at the problem and see if it is possible to restore the forum. If they can't restore the forum, we may actually move our hosting account to them as they don't charge $150 for a restoration after a website is hacked. Brother Adam
Gracious no. Though I have to break the largest database file - "ibf_posts" down and insert it line by line into the table to make it work. Should only take a week or so. Brother Adam
I may. We still actually haven't found a good solution to getting the database back (apart from spending $150) so it may take a while.

Brother Adam
We've made the decision to have GoDaddy do a full restore through their backup tapes to the day before the attack (8/16/06). Despite our best efforts we were not even able to restore our databases to our last backup from a month ago due to the extensive damage caused by the person or group who hacked in. In addition GodDaddy has reported everything that happened to the FBI and another international law enforcement group. They are actively working on finding out who did this. If they can find out where this attack came from they will take legal action will be taken against the reponsible party. While our incident has been escalated into the upper teirs of the hosting company, it will take 2-10 days for the full restore as they are pulling the tapes from a safe deposit box. In the meantime this endevor has been costly - $150. I just spent the funds we had through donations both on renewing our hosting support and on Catholic Bibles and Catechisms for a couple of prison inmates who are interested in becoming Catholic. So it's come right out of my pocket. If you would like to help me recover the cost you can use the paypal link on the Catechetics Online Homepage (which will not be active during the restore) or log into Paypal click on "Send Money" and use the email address: Janke_ad@hotmail.com and choose "Service". If you would like to mail a donation, please PM me and I will give you my on campus university address. I'm going to be creating in addition to our support staff page a page for those who donate. If you want your name kept from this page, please indicate so in the comments field when you make a donation. Thank you for your time, and God Bless. God Bless, Adam This is the paypal account I use for donations (Janke_ad@hotmail.com) This page will be up until tomorrow morning when I need to clear everything for them to do the restore: http://www.catecheticsonline.com/donation.html

Brother Adam
A donor who shall remain anonymous has covered the full amount of the recovery. May God richly reward them for their gift in heaven. Thank you so much, you have helped us save a lot of hard work.

Brother Adam
No, the hosting company is going to completely restore it to what it was the day before the attack. But we are now looking at a new hosting company who doesn't charge for something that there should be no charge (on the other hand, some companies who do not charge for retreiving backups aren't as secure as they keep their backups in the same place as your website...so if there is a fire...poof...this hosting company keeps there backups in a safe deposit box at a bank.)
