We subscribe to This Rock, but a lot of the apologetics stuff kinda goes over my head.

My mom also gets a great Catholic magazine called Faith & Family. It gives a lot of ways to integrate the Catholic faith into regular family life.

What's First Things all about, Sojourner?

I googled them and it looks like heavy reading.  Is it Catholic, Christian, what?

Heavy reading, yes.

Fr. Richard John Neuhaus is the editor-in-chief of First Things, which is a publication of The Institute on Religion and Public Life, "an interreligious, nonpartisan research and education institute whose purpose is to advance a religiously informed public philosophy for the ordering of society," according to the mag's website.

It's not exclusively Catholic, but nonetheless provides a forum for intelligent and respectful inter-faith communication and debate. I'm not a regular subscriber, but I pick it up a few times a year. Several fascinating articles. Not many pictures. :book:

This link has an interview with Neuhaus in which he briefly discusses his conversion to Catholicism from the Lutheran church.

Right! I would not recommend the Reporter to anyone but if I had to only choose one publication it would be National Catholic Register. You get the news from a Catholic persepctive and a lot of spiritual articles as well. They are currently updating their website to contain more of their articles.

I am also really getting into Crisis, thanks to my sister who works there! Lots of informative stuff without being too "over my head".

Envoy and This Rock is mostly apologetics - Envoy is more bite size while This Rock, more meaty.

Faith and Family is cool for Catholic families. Sort of "Martha Stewart gets religion".

i actually haven't really read many catholic magazines. i guess i'm supposed to or something, since i'm catholic and all. there's this magazine I like called RELEVANT...it's targeted towards Christian young adults and it's about pop culture and living a Christian life. you can go to the website at www.relevant.com

Hey Soujourner, you read First Things . . . cool . .. we're both ROFTERS . . . I also like Communio, but I'm not sure how many people have heard of it . . . it was started in Germany by VonBalthasar and Ratzinger . . . now it's here in the US, but it's still small circulation.

Oh yeah, and I love TRACES, which is the awesomest Catholic Magazine around.
