JP2Iloveyou
I for one do not think the Tridentine Mass is objectively more beautiful than the Novus Ordo. I also don't really like this debate. I love the Tridentine Mass, don't misunderstand. I also love the Novus Ordo in Latin and the vernacular. To say that the Trid. Rite is objectively better is false in my humble opinion. The New Rite was given to us by the Magisterium acting infallibly with the Holy Father. The translations have all been approved by the Congregation for the Liturgy, which I believe is headed by Cardinal Ratzinger. You will be hard pressed to find anyone more faithful and orthodox than Cardinal Ratzinger. Both rites are accepted by the Church and should be encouraged. For that matter, all of the Eastern Rites (i.e. the Byzantine, Coptic, Ethiopian, Syro-Malankar, Syro-Malabar, etc.) as well as the sub-rites in the Latin Church such as the Ambrozic, Carthusian, and Dominican rites should all be encouraged because they are all valid ways of offering the Holy Sacrifice. To say that one is better than the other would be to say that the Holy Spirit made a mistake in inspiring the Magisterium to develop a new rite or that the Holy Spirit made a mistake in inspiring the Magisterium of yester-year to make an old rite.
