dabukthumpa
So I agree with everything you said. Thanks for the input.
Im4Him
Dabu, what is the incredible importance of this poll? Why is it so important that everyone vote in it? What will it change? Also, where did Aloysius imply that you are going to hell? I don't see that anywhere. Like he said, only Rome can change the liturgy. We can do nothing about it. This thread is nothing but opinions. I share the opinion that every parish should have a Tridentine mass, and I love chant and would like nothing more than to see it at every mass, Tridentine or Novus Ordo, but a mass is a mass. Christ gives Himself to us in the Eucharist, and there is NOTHING more beautiful than that. NOTHING.
cmotherofpirl
I also do not find your antics amusing. I wish you only saw the real importance of the poll at hand. I am saddened that you would even imply that I might go to Hell. And yet you dare to have as quotes under your name - someone as Holy as St. Faustina. Obviously, you have no Idea what she was about - and the Love for souls she possessed. Maybe we don't find your antics amusing. It is obvious you have an agenda and are looking for a fight. Its silly to pit rite against rite, because they are both right. Some of us here are old enough to remember the Trid Mass. If you want a debate, go to the debate board. BLAZEr
I didn't suggest you were going to hell, Habu is a little elephant from a Christian Science website from a thread someone posted the other day. Her name sounds like youre name, Dabu . . . that's why you reminded me of it . . . I have no idea if you are going to hell or not, it doesn't seem likely from your posts. And I hope not either way. Your poll is not "important." That would be, to say the least, an overstatement. It might be interesting, or fun, or provocative, but important? Hardly. This is what I mean by get a grip. dabukthumpa
Yes, but one expression of the Mass can be objectively more beautiful. That is all - so why are you all so against the poll. Just let people vote. Plus I am interested in what people think about it. It happens to be something I take interest in. I am entitled to that - and of all places - this website should be a place that respects that. Secondly... Here is your quote where it implied me going to Hell.."I like Dabu, especially his name, which like it or not, just got abbreviated to Dabu, which reminds me of the Habu that poor little Indian Elephant that is going to Hell." Lastly, I hope that it will help others change their attitude against some of the many Beautiful Sacred Practices the Church's honors and treasures. BLAZEr
Yes, the poor little Indian Elephant is going to Hell. Not Dabu. I did not imply you were going to hell. Get a grip.
Aloysius
Aloysius, I was actually responding to Dabu calling me a dude...not you. I didn't even realize that you had said "dude" in your post. i call everyone dude, even the girliest girl :P
cmotherofpirl
You have no clue to our attitude to the treasury of the Church. You don't know us well enough to even guess. You don't need a poll to find this out. Simply ask.
dabukthumpa
Once again - I have stated clearly I am not pitting right against rite. IT IS SIMPLY A POLL QUESTION!!!!!!!!! AND YES ACCORDING TO THE CRITERIA OF AESTHETICS AND BEAUTY - ONE RITE CAN ME "superior" than another. Secondly, you don't have to be real old to remember the Tridentine Mass, since it is still said in over 130 parishes across just this country alone. Lastly, I am not looking for a debate. Yet you people keep pushing one. So I have to keep explaining myself.

dabukthumpa
"Aesthetic" - "of or relating to aesthetics - (2) apprecitative of the beautiful "Aesthetics" - "brance of philosophy dealing with the nature, creation, and appreciation of beauty." Websters Dictionary.
dabukthumpa
I would also like to respond to "hyperdulia" that in no way whatsoever is the "novus ordo" Mass more primitive than the Tridentine. That whole issue is a whole different discussion in itself. The History and Development of the Roman Rite is a lengthy - and very complicated matter - but just because you might be able to make "some" associations with the past - does not imply that the first Catholics celebrated the "novus ordo" Mass.
