For Circle
Back to the topic:

How could they have authority in a small area?

If the Church that gave us the Bible is not the Church that will last forever, then which One is?

Which one has been teaching the same teachings since the beginning of the time of Christ that posses the harmony of history and Scripture?
You have admited in this thread that the Catholic Church had the authority in the "small area" of Canonizing Scripture.

If Scripture is what every protestant bases their entire faith on, how is this a "small area"?

- New Testament scripture was Canonized in 400 AD, by the Catholic Church Bishops and Pope in a council... aka Magisterium
- Christ states that the Church will never be overcome (St. Matt 16:18-19)
- Christ states that the Holy Spirit will always guide the Church (St. John 14)
- The Apostles teach that all who leave the group will do so to their own destruction and people will distort the meaning of the Scriptures to draw people away (Acts 20:29-30, 2 Peter 3:15-17)

Where in the bible does it tell us that the Church will only have the authority to determine which books should be considered Scripture in 400 AD?

When did Christ come back after the Scriptures were Canonized to take teaching authority away from the Church?

Why would God allow a false church to canonize Scripture? To canonize Scripture would require one to be guided by the Holy Spirit... to be guided by the Holy Spirit means to be without error as taught since before Moses.

What did the Church teach about faith at the time of Canonization of Scriptures?
It taught:
- Priesthood
- Apostolic Succession
- Real Pressence in the Eucharist
- Confession of sins to a priest
- Sacrafice of the Mass
- Permanance of Matrimony
- Authority of the Pope
- Sacred Tradition
- Communion of Saints
- Baptism
- Confirmation
- Anointing of the Sick
- Contraception is a sin
- Mary, Ever Virgin

What Church today teaches everything that the Church that Canonized the Bible taught?
The Catholic Church, the one in the same.

The only logical conclusion that I can draw from your posts and the facts listed (in view of Scripture and writings from 70 AD until 400 AD) is that either the Catholic Church is the Church established by God, or there is no God. I know for a fact that there is a God because of miracles like St. Pio and Fatima... so the Catholic Church must be God's Church.

If I am wrong, please show me with Scripture and Early Church Father writings.

ironmonk
