Euthanasia For Animals

dont take my word for it...cause I aint a militant or anything..

but my understanding is we have dominion over nature. Basically we are the caretakers in responsability to nature. Now, if you have a dog that is sick and in pain and probably not going to live much longer than I think it is ok to take the responsable route and put the animal to sleep. I had to do this a little bit ago to my dog of 16 years. I think intention is the biggest thing here. If you put a dog down cause you dont want it anymore than I think it could be a sin. In the form of a stewardship problem.

but I dont know how the pro-life angle works with this. Euthanasia is clearly wrong. but is that only for humans?

It doesn't have a rational soul. Additionally, in the second creation story, man named all the creatures, indicating that he had dominion over them. Because they are not blessed with free will, you are not violating free will by euthanizing. However, that must be balanced by the understanding that we are stewards of the earth, and that recklessly killing animals is disrespectful of God's creation. (However, I must add that all mosquitos must die!)
