Dust's Sister
Tell Me! http://www.greekfestivalofdallas.com/default.asp I want to see Constatine Maroulis! here's the Church's website http://www.holytrinity.info/
The Orthodox Church is evangelical, but not Protestant. It is orthodox, but not Jewish. It is catholic, but not Roman. It isn't non-denominational – it is pre-denominational. It has believed, taught, preserved, defended and died for the Faith of the Apostles since the Day of Pentecost 2000 years ago.
Edited September 12, 2006 by Dust's Sister

rkwright
I don't know if you've ever been to that Church in Dallas... but that is truly one of the most amazing Churches I have seen in America... Its worth going to just to see the Church.

Piccoli Fiori JMJ
I think it would be really awesome! The Orthdox have a lot of the same history as us, and I really hope that soon we can breath with both lungs again!
PadrePioOfPietrelcino
I know I would go. There is no more harm in socializing with our Orthodox Brethern as there is with our seperated protestant brethren

HollyDolly
I would go if I was you. I never get to go to the one in San Antonio. Besides,so they are Orthodox,so what! Remember they honor Jesus,Our Blessed Mother and the holy saints, so there's no problem.

Dave
It's not like someone was inviting you to attend a Greek Orthodox Divine Liturgy in lieu of Sunday Mass. So of course you can go!
homeschoolmom
Just don't get married there. I've heard those big, fat Greek weddings are a nightmare...
IcePrincessKRS
It's not like someone was inviting you to attend a Greek Orthodox Divine Liturgy in lieu of Sunday Mass. So of course you can go!
Exactly the point I was going to make. Its like going to a fair, not Mass (our parish has a fair every year, and believe me, not everyone there is Catholic lol). AS long as you aren't participating in their Liturgy I'd say you're safe to go.

thicke
I used to go to the one in Memphis all the time. I just went to the one here in Nashville this past weekend. It was really cool. One time while touring the church in Memphis during their festival, I overheard the lady conducting the tour group while waiting for the priest make an incorrect statement about the Roman Catholic Church. I charitably corrected her. I was thankful that was there to handle the situation instead of "personally avoiding it".
franciscanheart
i went to the festival when i was in school and really enjoyed it. it's not as heavily religious as one might expect. the culture and food are real treats and i know you'll meet some very cool people. it's definitely an experience to be remembered.
