You recieve Confirmation kneeling, right?

I did not, but it would be cool to do so.

From the Rite of Confirmation:

The Anointing with Chrism

43. The deacon brings the chrism to the bishop. Each candidate goes to the bishop, or the bishop may go to the individual candidates. The one who presented the candidate places his right hand on the latter’s shoulder and gives the candidate’s name to the bishop; or the candidate may give his own name.

44. The bishop dips his right thumb in the chrism and makes the sign of the cross on the forehead of the one to be confirmed, as he says:

N., be sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit.

The newly confirmed responds:

Amen.

The bishop touches the cheek of the newly confirmed as a sign of peace.

The bishop says:

Peace be with you.

The newly confirmed responds:

And also with you.

There is no mention of kneeling although it is a practice in the diocese where I live, in the case of children. Adults receiving usually stand.

JMJ
9/18 - Twenty-fourth Monday

StThomasMore,

I believe that the ritual for the Easter Vigil Mass mentions that, should the candidates for Confirmation receive the sacrament while kneeling, the MC is to place a faldstool out for the celebrant to sit upon. Hope this helps.

Yours,
Pio Nono
