hyperdulia again
the crusades were a command from God. I think the human side failed him terribly. the attacked eastern Christians, even Eastern Ccatholics. The Maronite Catholics hid in the mountains for a century. ~runnergurl~
Man, I could never be Muslim. Don't you think they get headaches reading the koran all can't-sit-still like that?
~runnergurl~
Allah is Arabic for "God." It was also the name of the prime god in Arabian pantheon. According to Mohammed, there is only one god, and his name is Allah. He is the God of Abraham. They believe Jesus is a prophet, but not the Son. It is interesting, however, that they believe that Jesus was born of a virgin and that John the Baptist was the announcer for Jesus, yet Mohammed, the main prophet, was born normally with no forerunner. One big thing that brings Islam into question for me are the "Satanic verses," but that's a whole 'nother topic. As for no-tw's post, I think it was far too harsh. I believe that Muslims at least intend to pray to the same God that we do (the God of Abraham). And Mohammed is not an idol. He was a real man, and he is not worshiped within Islam as anything more than a prophet. What he said ^_^
