Guest guest
What does the Catholic Church say about body piercings, specifically facial ones like lip/nose/eyebrow rings? Anything? If it doesn't go against Church teachings, what is the popular opinion on these? Does it discount credibility as a Christian or just another way to express yourself? scardella
I haven't heard of anything hard and fast about it, off-handedly, but I can tell you that excessive piercings (for instance, if your face would look like swiss coagulated milk if you pulled all of them out) would probably be considered mutilation of the body. I personally don't see much issue w/ one or two. Sorry I can't give anything more than my personal opinion.
N/A Gone
Scardella, I dont think anything exists. If it does exist then for some reason we have never been told. I have three tatoos and I have had people lecture me. But not because it is a violation of the faith. Rather they are just old white people(**no offense old white people) like many things, it is all about intention and responsability. Be cool with it. If you have doubts, dont do it. scardella
the only difference between the two is the guaging by the second guy.
Bigger guages destroy the underlying form of the face. I wonder how the second guy breathes. His face would look badly deformed if he were to take them out, too. Loyola
Geez that dude is definitely making a statement. Ouch. I never was interested in tattoos or piercings, but a few are ok. Moderation is the key.

That dude's awesome. . Anyways, yeah what other ppl said. I don't think a couple of either is a problem. Except if the content, especially of the tattoo, is morally questionable.
